Hmm, sure it was. Your hypothesis is that cities have violent crime because of Democratic mayors, but don't you think more power, namely in the form of cash to get things done, resides with the state government? Do they get a pass?
 
I was actually nearby one violent incident while I lived there. I remember the cop cars screaming down the street.

Even dims in poor neighborhoods will appreciate his efforts if they perceive their city is safer. Tackling crime isn't overly complex. So your argument is that the cities don't have enough resources? Maybe they do and don't allocate those resources in a manner that best addresses high crime rates. This isn't a new problem. High crime rates in major cities controlled by your party is a decades long problem. Congress cut funding for dc in 2025. Crime in dc has been a 50 year problem.
