This is good news if they think amending the Constitution is necessary. Because that is never happening.
Why not? Trump’s already threatening to withhold federal money from blue states and to overturn parts of the constitution. So what’s to say he can’t force enough swing-state dems to bend to his will?

To be fair, I don’t think it’ll happen. But then, I didn’t think Trump would win in 2016, and I hoped that we were smart enough to reject him in 2024. And what few guardrails kept him in check in his first term no longer exist. So…it ain’t out of the question.

No shot. Won't happen.

No shot. Won't happen.
Sure thing.

Said the same about Trump 2016. And the “stop the steal” movement and subsequent insurrection attempt. And Aileen Cannon literally shirking her judicial oath, and Trump skating Scot-free from various criminal charges on the way to a return to the White House.

Said the same thing about Rs kowtowing to an obvious authoritarian/fascist who ramped up the fascism to 11 in his most recent campaign. And about voters actually being swayed by dumb shit like trans surgeries in prison. And about a SCOTUS majority that has lost its damn mind.

Won’t happen.

Trump makes it official, picking the guy who was in charge on site the day Trump was a mm from being assassinated. But Curran pretty easily convinced Trump it was Biden’s fault.

Curran has no apparent management experience for a department of this size but he is an experienced secret service officer.

Head of the Secret Service is one instance where I fully support Trump appointing a completely inept and unqualified indvidual.

Defense secretary nominee Pete Hegseth testified during his confirmation hearing this month that he wasn’t aware of any nondisclosure agreements (NDAs) in connection with his two divorces. While a review of court documents from Hegseth’s divorce from his second wife, Samantha Hegseth, does not reflect a full NDA, it includes a court-ordered agreement precluding either of them from saying anything publicly that would disparage the other. …”

“… Sen. Tim Kaine of Virginia, a Democratic member of the Armed Services Committee, had asked the Trump Cabinet pick during the Jan. 14 confirmation hearing whether there were NDAs between him and his first wife, Meredith Schwarz, or his second wife, Samantha Hegseth.

“Senator, it is not something I am aware of,” Pete Hegseth responded. Pressed whether he would release either of those women from the NDAs if they exist, Hegseth said, “Senator, that is not my responsibility.”

A July 2018 Minnesota state court divorce decree reveals that Hegseth has agreed to limits on what he and his second wife, Samantha Hegseth, whom he was married to from 2010 to 2017, can say about each other in public. (He has been married to Jennifer Rauchet since 2019.)

That decree, which is publicly available through Minnesota’s online court files, reflects findings of fact and conclusions of law and constitutes a court judgment.

… The agreement further states each “will refrain from engaging themselves in any public discourse, including through either traditional media or social media, disparaging the other party,” and it obligates them to “take reasonable steps to encourage friends and family to refrain from doing so.” …”

She was free to say nice things, though, so he was not lying, right?

BTW, good job FBI reviewer who missed this public record?

Cont’d

“… When reached for comment about the language of the divorce decree, a lawyer for Pete Hegseth, Tim Parlatore, wrote: “This is not a non-disclosure agreement, it is a limited non-disparagement agreement. These are two legally distinct concepts and there is nothing inappropriate or inaccurate about Mr. Hegseth’s answers to the committee. It takes some significant imagination and intellectual dishonesty for anyone to consider this to bear on the credibility of his testimony.” …”

Need your help NYC! Where does this belong? In the trash heap if you ask me.

A House Resolution has been introduced to allow Trump a third term. I will try to find a good link.

So many crazy things coming out daily, this would normally deserve it's own thread it is so outlandish.

But how many of us predicted this very thing along with so much of the other mess? I believe cowardly MAGAs refer to this as TDS.
