But, previously he did want to be reelected so he had a purpose in not doing stupid crap. Now that guard rail is gone and we see his true self. Like I said, it makes no difference whether he has or has not cognitive decline. And frankly, Biden either.

As long as the demented president has established a competent cabinet with a team of experienced and knowledgeable expert advisors, that is far better than having a demented president who surrounds himself with a cabinet of incompetent buffoons with a team of inexperienced and ignorant advisors who know nothing about geopolitical matters or domestic policy.

Wouldn't you agree ? and a response that it would be better if we didn't have a demented president begs the question.

I don't think it's good that the President is signing EOs and saying "I have no idea what I'm signing." I don't think it's at all good, regardless of who's around him, that the most powerful nation in the world has a leader that struggles to complete any thought, navigate stairs or ride a bike.

I especially don't think it's good that his party's leadership lets him continue that was for 3 years and not only doesn't sound an alarm during his term, but proceeds to allow him to run AGAIN without saying a fucking word.

1. Guy who has mentally declined, whose administration obeyed the rule of law, respected international diplomacy and was a professional operation from top to bottom. Cabinet officials all supremely qualified for their roles.

2. Guy who has mentally declined, who undermines the rule of law, who quite simply makes little to no effort to follow the law, who impulsively makes reckless decisions with far-reaching consequences, who started trade wars and shooting wars for no intelligible reason, whose cabinet members are not merely unfit for office but grotesque exaggerated caricatures of that unfitness, and who routinely threatens actions that could lead to massive national or even world destruction.

Those two situations are exactly the same! Democrats are just hypocrites!!!!1!!!

The actions by Dems, to cover up Biden's mental decline and actually try to run him for another 4 years, exists independently of Trump.

To whatever degree that Dems so hated, and were so terrified of, Trump that they were willing to cover up for, and run for a second term, a wholly incapable president, is the only way the two situations have any connection.

What about the actions by Republicans who did/are doing everything possible to cover up rape/pedophilia/Russian connections/stealing classified documents/various other corruption/emoluments too numerous to mention, and likely some dementia as well, because they were so terrified of....Kamala?

Zen is the kind of imbecile that has put us in this situation. He laments the Biden mental incapacitation stuff, but even when Biden was pushed aside he still voted to enable Trump and supports stupid shit he does through his bo-siding nonsense to this day. He's as much a piece of shit as any MAGA and he'll find a reason to vote against Democrats in future elections as well.

I don’t think most Dems wanted Biden to run again. He and his family were clearly not onboard with stepping aside and nobody in the party had enough backbone to force it. I suppose the leadership felt like Joe was the best option to win despite his decline but I think it was more Biden’s unwillingness to step aside.

I told several of my Pub friends I would gladly to a Weekend at Bernie’s Joe over any version of Trump. We knew the incompetence that Trump would surround himself with unlike Biden.

Are we haggling over the phrase "sitting in the corner"? If I said he lacks the cognitive ability to perform the role of President, but is quietly sitting in his chair in the oval office, would that be acceptable?

The actual "whataboutism" here is your bringing up Biden when discussing Trump's cognitive decline. And for the record, what the "Dems so hated, and were terrified of, Trump" was that he tried to stop the peaceful transition of power first by creating a fake elector scheme and then (when that failed) by inciting a riot on the US Capital. This - by the way - was before his cognitive decline.

Now that he is back in office and clearly losing whatever intellect he had - he has broken nearly every norm and precedent established for his office over the past 200 plus years, he has engaged in corruption the likes of which the history of the entire western world has never seen, and he has broken the post WWII order that has benefited one nation over all other nations since 1945. He is a disaster and we still have two more fucking years of this madness.

So yeah let's talk about Biden and how a small circle around him covered for his mistakes and lapses and how he should not have run for office and those who cared for him did him the most disservice in that regard. And how Biden's greatest error historically was running for a second term because that one decision set us up for Trump's second term. You can keep talking about Biden as if Biden voted for Trump. And we can keep talking about Biden as this country sinks into a dark chasm, one it is unlike to emerge from in our lifetimes. And we can keep talking about Biden as both China and Russia gain strategic leverage over the world because our current POTUS is the worst leader in this history of this country.

This type of shit is why I'm fairly certain MAGA will never admit to their error. Once you are in, it is really hard to let go.
