This reminds me of my clients who come up with some less than half-baked idea for a business and form an LLC but never take any steps to otherwise create or build the business, or lift a finger in any way related to the business idea. Then they want me to tell the judge that they run their own business because they think that makes them look good.

You know that charcoal, sulphur and potassium makes black powder. That's no joke but it is a LOW explosive which means that, even if they get the mix right, and trust me on this, that's not a given, it's not nearly as powerful as anfo. Anfo is also a lot more discreet to make. Of course, the dumb fucks could have gone to a gun shop and bought it or the pyrodex that they use in muskets and muzzleloaders that they use in primitive weapons season.

Yeah, this is looking more like a farce (sorry, farce, but when Trump won...) by the moment.

I guess, but when they are purchasing materials and driving to the desert to build/test explosives, it seems pretty clear that this was more than just messages being sent back and forth on Signal.

If Biden was President, and the same scenario unfolded with a right-wing group, I suspect the opinions here would be significantly different.

I probably tested more powerful things in my back yard when I was 15. I was damned sure working with more powerful chemicals. It was only the fragmentation stuff that ever concerned me.

Fwiw, I'd be laughing at the idiots on the right except for that fact that at the Murrah Building , THyY used the equivalent of 5000 lbs of TNT in the form of ANFO, a HIGH explosive and a truck, not a pipe full of black powder and a backpack.

Yes, and this is not directed at you. Opinions on both sides would be different. That is just where we are as a country. Different sides of the same coin. Just look at the thread on Sydney massacre. Wish we could fast forward to Jan. 20, 2028.

Maybe for some but BS is BS and this is a BS investigation. I'm going to be surprised if there's much they'll ever convict these people of. It's just camouflage for government incompetency everywhere else. They have to make up their successes.

Oh, well as long as they're building and testing explosives that you deem to not be that powerful, I'm sure it's fine and the FBI should definitely let them carry on.

Just an update on their sophistication.

Most pipe bombs are typically made with metal pipes, specifically galvanized or black steel, because metal's higher bursting strength allows for greater concussive force and more effective fragmentation.

See, I actually had enough of a misspent youth that I know a bit about this. You're clearly the same idiot about this as you are about everything else.

Right, like I said, everything is fine. No concerns here! Sure, they're building bombs with specific targets in mind, including use on New Year's Eve, but they aren't "good" bombs, so there's no issue.

You or anyone else hasn't come close to showing that they were a viable threat, much less any kind of sophisticated organization. What crimes have they actually been charged with? Any or is it all just some vague conspiracy theory of what Patel and Bondi pulled out of the air? These guys might need watching but you're talking the Apple Dumpling Gang and not Quantrill's Raiders.

You have zero clue if this was a real threat. Zero. Your position is kneejerk and cliche. Knowing your posting history I am surprised. My guess is that the 9-11 crowd would have gone through a process that most would have concluded at times posed no threat.

Did you read my comments on the methodology? Let's put it plainly. People putting together homemade black powder bombs ( black powder is available online for 25-55 dollars a pound and actually works) in PVC pipe are neither knowledgeable or sophisticated. They scarcely qualify as rank amateurs. Zero clue, my ass. I have enough damned clue to tell smoke from fire. This isn't much besides blowing smoke up the gullible people's asses.

Assuming they got the bombs together, and remember they are LOW explosive in a lightweight casing that has almost no fragmentation effect and not much better containment that the newspaper firecrackers used to be wrapped in so the explosion can build up power, what leads you to think that they could either plant them or detonate them. These guys are clowns. Remember that the Boston Marathon bombing was so terribly effective because they were contained in heavy pressure cookers where the top lugged on . That meant a greater explosion and fast moving heavy shrapnel, something that lightweight PVC and the glued on ends won't do.

Now, go study some basic physics and use some common sense before you accuse one of us of not having a clue. You're right about my posting history. How often has it been me that was clueless.
