King of the Hill returned on Hulu today, it's a ten-episode season. The characters have all aged a little over a decade - Hank is retired, Bobby is a 21-year-old chef and part owner of a restaurant in Dallas, and so on. I loved the show in its initial run from 1996 to 2009. The only thing that really seems off is that some of the character's voices have changed due to the deaths or replacement of the original voice actors, the most noticeable changes are to Dale and Kahn. My wife and I have watched the first three episodes and it's still pretty good. I'd say that series creators Mike Judge & Greg Daniels haven't lost their touch.

Watched the first two episodes and they were both pretty solid. Lots of complaining from Hank but I was right there with him on most of it (ugh, I'm getting old).

Bobby talking smack to Hank was hilarious and awkward at the same time. Just seemed like something Hank wouldn't have stood for no matter how old Bobby was.

Looking forward to the rest of the episodes.
 
Season 2 of Platonic [Seth Rogen/Rose Byrne] begins Wednesday on Apple TV+ with the first 2 episodes and weekly after that.

As a Welcome to Wrexham fan, I will also give Welcome to Necaxa a look. It starts Thursday night on FXX [not sure, but would also imagine available at some point on Hulu.

I think it gets better as it goes, it really hits its stride in the third episode, imo. The voice changes to Dale and Kahn were pretty jarring, but Dale's voice actually gets better after the sixth episode - original voice actor Johnny Hardwick passed away after the sixth episode and Toby Huss stepped in for the remaining episodes, and he actually sounds more like Dale than Hardwick did - I've read that Hardwick was already in bad shape when he filmed the first six episodes and his voice had changed. But (for me at least) the few voice changes didn't detract from quality of the episodes. I've read they're already working on another ten-episode season on Hulu, and I'll look forward to it.

It’s a documentary (true crime) but the Yogurt Shop Mirders is a 4 part series on HBO. 1st episode is out now. 4 teenage girls sexually assaulted and executed in the back of this yogurt shop in Austin TC 1991. Coerced confessions, 2 convictions but I think both were eventually overturned.
How they can solve this.

I saw that a few months ago. Very well done.

Funny thing—I went on a cruise to Alaska shortly after finishing that first season. One of the things that struck me most was how the show captured the sound of the frozen arctic, the weird atmospheric creaks and groans of the ice and snow and ships.

I really enjoyed it. Great cast, taut storyline and an incredibly eerie mood. It reminds me of Fortitude in the way it uses an extreme setting to heighten tension with a supernatural vibe. If you haven’t seen it, Fortitude is also worth a watch, season 1 at least.
 
Just finished 1923...fantastic show.

Harrison Ford has more charisma in his little finger than just about anyone I've ever come across. And damn he's a good actor.

I had a bit of a problem with them making out like ranchers were the best friends of the native Americans, but I guess that's a story Taylor Sheridan needs to tell himself so he can get to sleep at night. But the story itself is so much bigger than that.
 
I like "Leaanne" on Netflix. Even though I was predisposed to like it because I like her standup, some friends had to tell me to stick with it through the first couple of episodes, because it gets better. And it does. But I readily admit that its appeal is directed at people my age and people who take care of people my age. However, if you don't like Leanne Morgan's stand-up, then there is no way you are going to enjoy the show.

I liked Ford in Shrinking.
 
One episode into The Studio, and looks like I am going to stick with it a while. Lots of movies have skewered the Hollywood studio system before (the best being Robert Altman's The Player), so this is not very original so far, but the writing is funny, and the acting is quite good. High energy first episode, and Martin Scorsese --as himself-- is having a lot of fun with it.
