The second half of the season is fantastic. Way better than the first half, which was good.

Read the novel and watched about half of season 1, which was very well made. Gave it up b/c my husband didn’t want to keep watching … the second season (unrelated to the novel or first season) sounded quite interesting but I have yet to find time to watch it. On a long list of catching up when I retire one day.

My wife was out after episode 1. I've now watched through episode 6. The different actors they managed to get one episode cameos from has been pretty interesting. The War and the Gala were both very funny.

Been meaning to check this out. I like Seth.

The thing I love most about Scorsese is how he is so accessible, transparent, earnest, and doesn’t take himself too seriously. Very minimal ego for such a modern legend, and truly is just a movie lover.

A bit like Spielberg in that sense.
 
Started watching Band of Brothers earlier this week and only have four left. Which for me, qualifies as bingeing.

I’m not sure it’s quite living up to the expectations but it’s obviously very high quality. Character development is lacking for me and spread too thin, but it’s been great as a dramatized historical document and a good companion piece to Saving Private Ryan.

But Private Ryan did more with the narrative and characters in a couple hours than Band has done in a lot more time, IMO. Maybe that’s because they set out with different objectives.
 
I have been rewatching Mr Robot. Watched the episode last night that was a parody of a 1990s sitcom. I forgot how good that was.

It's great . The cinematography is wonderful
 
Starting to watch Endeavor on PBS/Brittbox on recommendation of a friend. I never watched Morse and it is like many seasons but Endeavor is like the prequel to Morse and I have enjoyed watching the first two. It’s only 4 episodes in a season but they’re longer than most.
Also have been enjoying Toast on same platform.

I've restarted Foundation and I'm getting much more the second time around.

Ill probably have all the time in the world to watch shows alone in the future. 😭😭

Oof. Heavy heavy.

One thing that bugs me sometimes with this series is that they can be a bit obvious in telling the viewers how they should be feeling. In this case I really didn’t need the sappy score playing in the background as they discovered the camp. I thought it would’ve been more effective and chilling without it.

But that was one of the better episodes of the series, and addressed what’s been the elephant in the room for the viewers. It did a great job of conveying how the soldiers were unclear about the atrocities, if not totally in the dark.

S3 feels like S2 of The Wire. Kind of an outlier but still pretty good.

Wife and I enjoy watching it (it's a challenge to find shows both of us like). It definitely has an old fashioned TV network sitcom vibe to it.
