No doubt this is eventually going to pass, but the fact that Republicans had to struggle to pass it in the Senate and now in the House shows that even Republicans know that this bill sucks and there is going to likely be a backlash to it in next year's midterms. But they'll pass it anyway because they're terrified of facing the wrath of Trump and MAGA Nation.
I shouldn't be, but I'm still shaking my head in wonderment at Lisa Murkowski's incredible statement yesterday that this was a horrible bill, that will hurt lots of people, and it will bust the budget, but she decided to vote for it anyway because it won't hurt Alaska that much, and she then urged House Republicans to do what she didn't have the guts to do and vote against it. Simply insane, totally feckless, and wildly self-serving rhetoric, but pretty much par for the course for Congressional Republicans nowadays. But they're not a cult of personality, oh no!
