Over the last 9 years, I’ve taken my older brother into a slew of emergency rooms, from New Hanover Medical Center to what I still call Memorial Hospital (the UNC Healthcare in Chapel Hill) to a hospital in Albemarle (that’s Stanly County near Charlotte, not near the coast) to a hospital north of Charlotte and one near Concord. So, should emergency rooms demand proof of citizenship prior to providing treatment for a heart attack or gunshot wound?
I respect you a lot as a poster.I don't say this lightly, and I know people will suffer even more than they already have under this incompetent administration, but my reaction to this is, "Go for it." The hospital would be required by federal law to provide care either way.So, should emergency rooms demand proof of citizenship prior to providing treatment for a heart attack or gunshot wound?
