lol…. I haven’t been paying attention to the details. So, the democrats are willing to shut down the government because they don’t want to end benefits that were enacted to help people after the pandemic?

That's one way to put it. Another way would be to provide healthcare for working class people that we'll pay for regardless, just in more expensive ways if we don't provide healthcare plans for them. Also people shouldn't lose everything just because they get sick.

I’m not sure that’s completely accurate, but the economy has been booming, wages have been rising, inflation was greatly reduced, and unemployment very low. When would be the time we could claw back some of enhanced benefits that were granted due to a pandemic?

I don’t know much about the intrcacies of health care. I did hear a politician make a good point. The ACA has done nothing to control the cost of healthcare, rather just provide more dollars to pay for it. That resonates with me as not being an optimal solution. I’m open to why that is wrong.

Healthcare costs have risen at less than half the rate they were pre ACA. Unless someone believes rhat to be a whopper of a coincidence for more than a decade now, the ACA has indeed addressed in some way the increases in the cost of health insurance.

I'm guessing you are referring to the Biden economy ?

There has been no improvement in the economy since Trump took office. Inflation has not been reduced since Trump took office. GDP is projected to finish the year at 1.9% vs. 2.8% when Biden left office. When Biden left office monthly wages were rising 4%. Since Trump took office monthly wages are rising 3.9%. Unemployment rate was 4.1% when Biden left office. It is now 4.3%

the republican party controls the entire federal government. both houses of congress, the executive branch, the judiciary.

this shutdown is 100000% on the republican party.
