It doesn’t matter to Trump. All he cares about is himself. Putin has something on Trump and he will do whatever it takes to keep that info from coming to light. I wish the trump supporters were smart to see that.

I have been saying this for 9 years now. Putin clearly has the goods on Trump and it seems obvious. Why can everyone not see it?

I remember a press conference with Putin and Trump in his first administration. Some reporter asked about Trump having been to Russia before. Putin said he wasn’t aware of the visit because Trump was a private citizen at the time. I knew then that he had the goods on Donald. The Soviet government built a huge apparatus to keep track of its own people. They also used it to track foreigners visiting. For Putin to say he didn’t know Donald had visited Russia before is pure unadulterated bullshit.

Whether they publicly announce it or not doesn't matter, it's painfully clear that Trump 2.0 sees Russia as our new best buddy in world affairs, and our former historic allies as enemies as worst or unfriendly rivals at best. And I'm sure that Hungary's Orban will also be treated as a bosom buddy as well. And meanwhile Putin, who no doubt still sees us as a major enemy, will continue to undermine the USA as much as possible, especially through his willing stooge Trump. Putin's Russia has managed to achieve something that the old USSR and KGB could only dream of - vast influence over the US government via an admiring US President and deep divisions within the country in which many white conservatives who once hated Russia now prefer Putin to fellow citizens who happen to be Democrats and liberals. What a time to be alive.

*Cue GT to chime in and explain how white conservatives don't really like Putin at all and it's just totally unfair to portray white conservatives as pro-Russia or pro-Putin.

“…The Guardian has reported that a memo recently circulated to staff at America’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) established “new priorities” for the agency and, while mentioning the threat of digital incursions by China and other enemies, failed to mention Russia.

“Russia and China are our biggest adversaries. With all the cuts being made to different agencies, a lot of cyber security personnel have been fired. Our systems are not going to be protected and our adversaries know this,” a source, who was familiar with the internal memo, told The Guardian.

“People are saying Russia is winning. Putin is on the inside now.”

Another anonymous source, who said that CISA staff had been “verbally informed that they were not to follow or report on Russian threats,” expressed concern for the shift: “There are thousands of US government employees and military working daily on the massive threat Russia poses as possibly the most significant nation state threat actor. Not to diminish the significance of China, Iran, or North Korea, but Russia is at least on par with China as the most significant cyber threat,” they said. …”
