Only ACC team in top 8. 6 SEC and Oregon Dtate is 8th.
Not a favorable seed given the resume.
I was thinking a 3.
But plenty good to get to Omaha.

If the Diamond Heels advance, they would play the Oregon regional winner in the Bosh …
While I get that GT was the regular season champ, they won that due to cancelled games plus completely avoiding the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place teams in the ACC. They also didn't make the finals of the ACCT.Wow. GaTech the 2 seed in Ole Miss regional — Ole Miss is the 10-seed. I would have thought they would be the 2-seed in 15 or 16 regional.
The Rambling Wreck won the ACC regular season and wasn’t close to being a host seed, sent to play at the 7th place SEC team.

They're probably a couple of lines lower than they should be, but that's not unheard of given all the things the committee has to balance.
I suspect GT's placement has less to do with their relative strength as a 2-seed and more to do with the potential drama of a GT-UGA super regional if they were to make it out of Oxford.Wow. I do not think you are correct about that. The demand for tickets to the regional was already in excess of the seating capacity by quite a bit. There will be no public tickets offered beyond SRO.Assuming we get out of our regional, guessing the Super Regional ticket demand will be a little less than last year with WVa.
Oh, I’m sure the demand will be tight on the UNC side. But I doubt any of the Oregon regional teams would take the entire visitor allotment - much less putting pressure on the secondary market. LSU and WVA fans really drove up prices last year.I do not think you are correct about that. The demand for tickets to the regional was already in excess of the seating capacity by quite a bit. The super (if we advance) will be TIIIIIIGHT for tickets.
You think they seed for dramatic effect in college baseball?I suspect GT's placement has less to do with their relative strength as a 2-seed and more to do with the potential drama of a GT-UGA super regional if they were to make it out of Oxford.
I do. They have done so in many instances in the past. Geography and TV matchups play a role for sure. You think they seed for dramatic effect in college baseball?
Interesting.I do. They have done so in many instances in the past. Geography and TV matchups play a role for sure.
I agree with part of that.IC's baseball board is usually pretty decent - it got awful as soon as the postseason started and the front-running basketball/football fans started trickling in who know nothing about the sport or the program; it's just the dregs of those sports' board users.
GT was 21st in RPI, which probably factored into the committee's thinking. UNC was 6th in RPI, which probably helped drag us to a lower seed than we were hoping. While I get that GT was the regular season champ, they won that due to cancelled games plus completely avoiding the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place teams in the ACC. Eh, I tend to think this is more just the fact that the bracket is always inevitably going to set up some potential rivalry games even if you're not trying. If they were really focused on rivalry games for TV's sake, for example, they could have set up Oregon vs. Oregon State in the supers, or UNC vs NC State, or Auburn vs. Alabama.I do. They have done so in many instances in the past. Geography and TV matchups play a role for sure.
