Basketball threads are the worst in my opinion. Go down six, and suddenly we're as irrelevant as Indiana as a program, the entire staff and athletic department needs to be overhauled and the players need to be run out of town. By the second half, when we're up by 15, all is forgotten and suddenly we're discussing seeding in the NCAA tourney and player x needs to be player of the year.

Plus the sheer volume of posters on basketball game threads makes it more entertaining.

Comparing which sport's game threads are the worst on IC is sort of like debating whether Hitler or Stalin was worse. They're all terrible, so trying to debate which one is more terrible is pretty pointless, IMO.

To be fair, there is at least some logical reason for football and basketball threads to be negative...we suck out loud at both sports. People screaming for Forbes to be fired is pure lunacy.

OTOH, baseball lends itself to second-guessing the coach more than any other sport.

I can’t get on board with lumping UNC basketball in with UNC football.

I definitely agree with this. Football and basketball game threads on IC the last few years always devolve into a referendum about the overall state of the program, but I think that’s mostly been justified (I realize we have a few posters in here that will vehemently disagree with that).

Baseball threads don’t seem that bad in comparison to me though. Like you’ll see people question and express frustration about certain lineup decisions during close games or losses, but I never really see people call for firings and a complete program overhaul like you see on bball or fball threads.
 
Plus, no team we may likely face (other than perhaps AU) will bring significant fans to the Bosh like LSU and WVU did last season.

And Arizona baseball doesn’t travel. If we make it to the Supers, we will not have to worry about them.

it's a huge, huge boon to be a national seed across from a West Coast Regional that's not Oregon State.
