If this one game makes the difference in Indiana making the NCAAT or not, that 2d baseman will never be able to live down that throw. It was one of the worst college baseball throws I have ever seen.

It will be like Ray Finkle in Ace Ventura -- a single play that haunts him for the rest of his life.

He could have tossed it underhanded or even beat the runner to the bag. It was that short/easy of a throw.

College baseball and Single A/Double A, someone is going to make a mistake.

Decades ago, I remember being at a Durham Bulls game…..Back when the Bulls were Single A and the food options included Flying Burrito.

My girlfriend and I were in the 3rd base seats. Whopping $3 a ticket. $5 a burrito. $2 or $2.50 a beer.

A guy in front of us was just going OFF on the Bulls. Each mistake. Or, not a mistake.

Finally, I tapped him on the shoulder.

“You must have played with some studs in high school. How many played pro?”

“Oh…..no one you played with ever played pro ball in any sport?”

“These guys on the Bulls are infinitely better than anyone you ever played with.

True in pretty much every sport. Those yelling at the players and the coaches cannot play as well or coach as well 99 percent of the time. That they yell etc does not surprise. Sports is a release/escape. That they lack the capacity to understand that the coach being paid handsomely probably knows more, and the players probably is more skilled, etc is the only surprise.
