Ant no news on portal front, so we’re just tilting at windmills until something falls.Jesus y'all. Transfer portal thread.
Which would greatly improve my chances of missing them. Thank you for your consideration.Ant no news on portal front, so we’re just tilting at windmills until something falls.
But you’re right- these discussions could take place elsewhere.
I assume anyone can de-commit just like a high schooler, and they are already "in the portal" so they can transfer elsewhere or withdraw. The only timeline restriction is to enter the portal, not to commit. Thus far we know: Bogavac to Oklahoma State, Dixon to Arizona and Powell to Pitt and we've added G/F Neoklis Avdalas.
Can a player re-enter the portal after successfully transferring from one school to the next - as long as he does it before April 21st? Why or why not?
We know Trimble entered the portal, but came back to UNC. Hypothetically, Could Dixon re-enter the portal before next Tuesday and go elsewhere other than Zona? Or even come back to UNC? Could Neoklis re-enter and go elsewhere? Or even back to Va Tech?
All true but I feel like it’s rarer for guys to commit to a new school from the transfer portal and then renege than it is for high schoolers.I assume anyone can de-commit just like a high schooler, and they are already "in the portal" so they can transfer elsewhere or withdraw. Agreed and yes please. I don't need to know random folks' qualitative analyses of the economic sustainability of NIL. I only need to know who will or won't be wearing a Tar Heel jersey next season. That's literally all I give a shit about in this thread.Ant no news on portal front, so we’re just tilting at windmills until something falls.

Something had to happen as we never got him on campus.Karter Knox to Louisville... they must have sone damn deep pockets.
Early buzz what that Knox would tag along with Coach Martin from Arky. Guess that was not the case.
Hoping this means our staff felt we had better options available than Knox and we decided to look elsewhere rather than whiffing on a guy who was supposedly ours for the taking.
I looked at all the ACC schools, we seem to have the most leaving, especially including Mingo not coming. That doesn't make sense for a school with UNCs history.![]()
Kansas, Kentucky and UNC among teams hit hard by college basketball transfer portal losses
It will take weeks for transfer portal movement to start settling. But these teams have lost notable transfers early in the process.www.nytimes.com
We have a new coaching staff, and frankly last season’s roster outside of Wilson/Veesaar was not very good by UNC’s standards. Nothing against any of the individual players (except for High; I am pining for an announcement that he’s gone). Turnover in that kind of situation should be expected though and probably a good thing in the long run.I looked at all the ACC schools, we seem to have the most leaving, especially including Mingo not coming. This is more like speed dating instead of the wining and dining of recruiting. Or maybe just hooking up in a bar.Just like recruiting...this is smoke season. I would temper my expectations for their haul this offseason. Could turn out with the right breaks.
Also, there is no guarantee they will get anyone better to replace him. That's why I hated seeing Cadeau leave.Must remember Michigan just won it all with a complete roster re-do with 5 portal players. All is not lost just yet.
And agree, the guys we had last season - who are now in the portal weren't all that anyway. Were they? Dixon was serviceable but...
Of course that's easy to say now... somebody probably said as much this time last year when Elliot entered the portal. I know it wasn't me, I hated losing him last year at this time. And who knows? Dixon may become more than "serviceable" next season and I'll then have regrets about him as well. Actually, I already do have regrets about losing him. He was serviceable after all.
your wish (and mine) is granted - High has announced a commitment to USFWe have a new coaching staff, and frankly last season’s roster outside of Wilson/Veesaar was not very good by UNC’s standards. I am starting to tamper my expectations about how we replace all of those guys for next season. Starting to feel like we might have to pivot from some of our initial portal targets.
