While this is probably true, I think it has more to do with either misevaluations, (Kyan Evans) incorrect scheme fit (Dawson Garcia), or misusing talent (Cade Tyson). The same is true for a lot of the recruits Hubert brought in as well.

They were down to Kyan Evans because they couldn’t land their top targets. I think the misevaluation/misuse of players is a separate issue

The year prior they were unable to secure any center. Both resulted in holes in the roster that could not be overcome

And that is what worries me when guys like Dixon leave. There is no way of knowing if they can get anyone better or even as good to replace him. The only portal upgrade they had this past season was Veesaar. Evans was a downgrade for Cadeau.
