UNC basketball 2026 transfer portal

dook looks deeper than anyone out there:

Guards: Boozer, Blackwell, Foster, Rippy
Wings: Sarr, Howard
Forward/Centers: JBB, Wilkins, Williams, Ngongba, Sharnowksi, Meyer

No one does less with more
And they will not win a title with it. Scheyer cannot win an important game. He doesnt have it in him.

It takes talent, experience and luck to win championships. I think Scheyer is a pretty good coach in context of that program but this is a ten year trend that has been overburdened with talent and way short of experience. Duke's done a good enough job selling the stars and program that they can afford it, both financially and reputationally, and I expect it will eventually pay off.

Yep its just a matter of time if he keeps stockpiling the talent.

Duke will have a deep squad, but they have gaps in returning talent (Foster, Sarr, Boozer and Ngbonga). I'm curious to see how they manage their rotation on the perimeter.

I dont think any of those you cited are important games to a blue blood program. Important games in college basketball ag thay level happen at the Final 4.
Well, in that case he is 0-1. But when the definition of "big" game is so limited, you really do get a small sample size. Dean Smith was a better coach than his "big" game record suggested. He would have done much better with the 4 out of 7 NBA format, as he was so good at making adjustments.

But if you are good enough to get to the Final Four repeatedly, you are going to break through eventually. Especially if you have the best lineup money can buy.

Yes, with that talent acquisition advantage they will eventually fall into one.

This is a dumb argument. Has Dook had a great deal of regular season success recently? Sure. Do they get incredible recruits, many of who go on to being incredible pros? Yup. Am I a little jealous because of the number of dookies in the pros, and of not being able to see a bunch of former heels leading teams and making the all-star teams in the pros recently? Probably.

But Heels fans will always (or at least for awhile) have certain things over the dookies:

1) More Championships.

2) More top-50 NBA players

3) K's last two games against the Heels (this is forever)

4) We don't have to root for dook (this is also forever).

A major emphasis on #3 . . !

So was this an admissions thing like people are speculating, or did Logue get wind that we’re trying to add more guys to the front court?

If it’s admissions... Man idk. I have no problem with UNC wanting to stick to its standards, but how is the academic stuff not clearly vetted before the announcement that the player is coming here gets made? Embarrassing for Logue and not the best look for UNC either.

I’m super pissed we’re not going to have two players whose first names have “Maxim” in them.

Remember how long it took for them to let Luka play?

Minor, minor deal for me.

If we’d beaten Kansas for the title, it would matter more.

‘82, ‘93, ‘05, ‘09, and ‘17 are infinitely more important than beating K in his last home game or his last Final Four. So is ‘57, but, I wasn’t alive.

Making the ‘67, ‘68, ‘69, ‘72 Final Four and ‘77 Finals and ‘81 Finals and ‘91 Final Four and ‘95, ‘97, ‘98, ‘08, and ‘16 Final Fours means a team AND Coach won big games.
