UNC Basketball Possible coaches

My son is inside studying but the snow and winter weather still messes with him.

You can't get around Ann Arbor when there's a lot of snow. Narrow streets and sharp turns.
 
Apropo of nothing but I’ve spent time in Tucson in the summer and it’s hot but not like American South sweaty hot. And I’ve been there for a basketball game - Hansbrough’s freshman year I believe (we won). The atmosphere was pretty electric (that was Lute days). I came very close to moving from Chapel Hill to Tucson and would have but the job fell through. Lloyd’s a westerner through and through.

I’d be talking to Steve Robinson about this matter - unless that bridge got burned.

Just some musings.

Let’s get a coach with fire who is likely going to be here for at least 15 years who also happens to be somebody the best players want to play for. Of course in this era, money is a huge influence on whom they want to play for.

Sort of. Illinois has never won it all and that felt like a big step up for Self at the time. They’ve always felt like a step down from Arizona to me. 🤷‍♂️

Illinois has a slightly more significant basketball history with more Final Fours over a longer period of time. Illinois is 13 in all time wins. Arizona is 17. But they are very comparable jobs.

Arizona has only been to four Final Fours all time and has basically no basketball history prior to Lute Olsen. They are a poor man’s UConn.
 
Son worked in Tucson for 3 years. Only time we would ever visit was early March when it wasn’t 110 degrees. It’s a dry desert area unlike Palm Springs.

Good food however.
