Good points. Although I think it’s probably fair to say that numbers ~70-100 or so aren’t likely to be guys that we’d want to have to rely upon. We offered a whole lot of players that appear to be projects/bodies (nothing at all wrong with that, and in fact pretty smart under the new rules and landscape).
But compared to years past, those 70-100 are a lot better. They are scholarship players, not walkons. And some of those projects turn out to be players like Eidan Buchanan. I certainly can’t think of a prior year when we had so much depth.

I've been thinking about this and given the way that Belichick in NE was ruthless about cutting players who weren't performing to the level he wanted and for shipping guys out a year early rather than a year late, I wouldn't be surprised if the last 30 or so roster spots under Belichick were a revolving door where he brings in players that show some promise on film and gets a look at them in practice (and maybe a little time on the field) and then weeds out all but the 5 or so that perform at a level he likes, then replaces the other 25 or so with new transfers to start the process again.

Oh yeah I agree for the most part, for sure. I do think a fair number of those ~70-100 players that are now on scholarship have similar profiles to what would have formerly been PWO’s. But I do think you’re right that overall we do have more depth.

I'm not without bias, but I'm not sure there is a better looking uniform combo in all of football- college or pro- than that classic one.

💯
It’s why I think UNC should NEVER wear alternate jerseys/uniforms.

We wear Carolina Blue! The most distinctive color in college sports.
I do like the navy with Carolina blue numbers and trim. And I'd love a chrome helmet with the old ram logo like in my avatar.

I just want a Carolina blue or white helmet with this footprint logo, not the huge hideous stylized footprint they put on the chrome helmets a few years back.

I liked those chrome helmets with the huge foot (or maybe I've just been conditioned to like them from many, many repeated viewings of Gio Bernard breaking his foot off in NC State's ass on the famous punt return), but I understand your perspective.

I will say that I've learned that the margin for helmet logos between "too small" and "too large" is much smaller than I would have imagined.

Just saw that IP3 will not be serving at Kenan this year, issue with fire code and no hood on their grill.

Makes me sad as I have come to rely on a cheesesteak early in the game to soak up some of the tailgate booze, has been my go to for a few years now.
