I saw that from Ollie. Anyone else?
Adam Smith mentioned "agent circles". Of course the same "mole" could be leaking to the agents if we want to wear tin-foil hats. We'll find out.

But again, parents being grumpy is predictable, assistants getting the boot is predictable, player turnover tween regimes is predictable, and and someone in the AD office being turned-off and unhappy shouldn't be a surprise. None of these are legit reasons to reboot.

One piece of reporting that seems to be coming from non-UNC sources is that a number of assistants are attempting to line up new jobs at different schools by playoff time. So those reports would be coming from other schools and/or agents.
That was odd. He said assistant coaches were looking for postseason roles with teams that would make the playoffs. Do schools typically add staff for their postseason game(s)?

Thread on IC on3 that says current players and recruits going on social media in support if BB and staff. Maybe a common enemy.will fortify the program.

Folks on IC are already being suckered back in and biting hook, like, and sinker on UNC's new Baghdad Bob approach that there's nothing to see here. There is nothing that Bill Belichick and his staff should be able to do between now and November 30, short of essentially winning at least 4 or 5 of the last seven games ***AND*** showing a transformative 180 degree different approach to game planning, scheming, playcalling, and executing, ***AND*** stop being a bunch of assholes, that should give anyone any desire to see that man leading a staff in Dublin next year for the season opener.

I obviously understand that Bill isn't voluntarily leaving $20M on the table, and UNC is desperate to not have to pay $20M to end this charade, but it's over, man. If it wasn't over in the first quarter on Saturday against Clemson, it was over yesterday. Any attempt to spin it otherwise is simply yet another evidentiary data point that the University of North Carolina, it's leaders, and its stakeholders are not serious.

Nothing in the Damage Control article or from reporters in the thread references a current player providing support for BB. Those are all quotes from recruits.

The only mention of current players is when a recruit said he was told by an assistant coach that "its just the fact that the players need to buy in and play".

For someone who spends a lot of time complaining about inaccurate reporting, you don't do a very good job relaying information accurately here.

Agree 100%. There is no "glass half full" here. Right now the two competing rumors are basically between "he's lost the team" and "he's lost half the team" which both translate onto the field as exactly the same thing. And we all know exactly what that's gonna look like. Under no conditions should we draw this out longer than we need to.

I was referencing positive player news thread. It does say current and former players.

Don't know if you can open but here is link.

Good. Not that anyone associated with the decision-making process at UNC has any capacity for shame or humiliation, but can't hurt to have their noses rubbed in it.
Yea cowherd just did segment in which the subtitle said belichick talked buyout with UNC. Not true apparently. Then said he vacationed in Nantucket. Funny ic had headline that weekend saying BB was at HS football game Friday and Saturday. Best I could figure BB went to Nantucket on Sunday. Do you approve of national reporting based on what apparently is false leaks?

BB did take a trip to Nantucket last off week -- fact, he was pictured with his gf holding hands. No coach does this in major college football (and certainly not the nfl).

Coach Hawkins has been suspended for violations of impermissable benefits -- also a fact.

There are plenty of other facts that indicate there are serious issues with the program. Whether or not BB lasts the season is up for debate, but to think the university has not looked into possible next steps to move on at some point is naive at best.

I approve of anyone- national, local, or whatever else media- reporting on the fact that the University of North Carolina's current football season is a complete and total trainwreck, because it is. I approve of anyone taking us to task for hiring an old, out-of-work cantankerous coach that nobody else would touch with a 50-foot pole and giving him both a $30M guaranteed contract AND carte blanche to roll over anyone and everyone whom he wants at the University. I approve of anyone taking us to task for allowing this cantankerous coach whom nobody else wanted to go full nepo/cronyism and hire his kids, his best friend, and his best friend's kid to roles and at compensation levels for which they're wholly unqualified. I approve of anyone taking us to task for allowing our idiot GM to prance around running his fat mouth about being the NFL's 33rd team when we look like a team that couldn't beat Fairmont High.

Do I care about any of the other stuff you're apparently obsessed with- the Yahoo reporter, the "leaks" and "false innuendos" and the like? Nope, not one bit. They aren't the issue. Maybe they're true. Maybe they aren't true. It's immaterial. What IS true is everything that I said above: that the Bill Belichick experiment is a humiliating failure on the field for reasons that were and are fully within the control of the two men whom we appointed to lead the football program. And because that IS true, this experiment needs to be ended no later than November 30, 2025.

I have said repeatedly there are issues. I heard about Nantucket went to IC and saw thread titled belichick on rad recruiting. Named the two high schools. How many days was he there? You approve of subtitle saying he talked buyout? My point is national media is always day behind and don't understand why any UNC fan would want negative and false info out in UNC and BB.

You genuinely believe the purpose of Belichick’s trip was to visit a private school in Massachusetts? I suspect we could find a better ROI for the head coach’s time spent recruiting.

I am going by what ic said. That he went to his game Friday and Saturday. Headline was
he was on road recruiting. I don't like seeing UNC and BB besmirched based on national TV on false reporting out of context stuff etc. But that's me.

I don't know why any UNC fan would want to circle the wagons to protect BB from negative reporting. He's the reason for this clown show.
I'm not 100% I want to restart a coaching search right now. We're typically mired in mediocrity, sometimes in the pits like now, and somewhere in the depths of my biases or blinded brain i have hopes we can be a well-coached, tough-nosed, disciplined team under a football guru like BB once he learns the ropes of portaling and good hires. I'd like the wild experiment to play out a little further.

At this point, other than losing recruits, i'm not sure the damage can be much worse. To date, his coaching sux, but whoever we hire has good odds of just being mediocre too.

If we're going to fire him, let's do it due to poor play on the field, not because of a grumpy parents or personalities or girlfriends. (of course fire him if he's being a dick to players)
