Who is doing that? How anyone could watch that first quarter against Clemson and *still* JCD for Bill Belichick is beyond comprehension. Guess we’re going to have to get blown off the field seven more times this fall before people face the music.
I'm pretty sure CFord doesn't follow the basketball team. And, it was meant to be a dig at those folks who tell us to stop complaining about the results on the court."Those of us basketball fans"
What does that mean? The vast majority of us are fans of every team in every sport that Carolina fields. I dont know a single UNC fan who isn't a UNC basketball fan.
As I've said before, I'm still going to wait and give him and the staff more than 5 games before I decide it's a failure and never will work. I will admit that it's not looking good, for sure, but it's still too early in my opinion to fire them (based off of on the field results alone). How anyone could watch that first quarter against Clemson and *still* JCD for Bill Belichick is beyond comprehension. James Franklin was up there seeing the same player the prior Fri during PSU's bye.I would say it was all vacation -- with a fake recruiting visit sprinkled in.
James Franklin was up there the Fri B4.Yeah, to be clear, Massachusetts is NOT where a college FB coach goes to "recruit" for multiple nights.
Did he do some recruiting while up there? Sure, no doubt he did.
But that was for maybe a couple of dudes, maximum. Only 1 that I saw would be a legit real "get". That is NOT what college FB coaches do on an in season recruiting trip, but happy BB was wise enough to put enough "work" in to be able to legit write this off as a business expense, so to speak
Fans are freaking generally about rumors from mix of outlets, other fans can freak generally about mixed media outlets being sensational, this causing the original fan freakout. If you guys are going to get bent out of shape about WRAL and nit pick the details, they are not the ones that reported that we were in talks with Belichick to buy him out yesterday. They simply reported what 247 was reporting first, which I think is totally fair.
But the call for him to be fired isn’t just based on the on field results alone. That’s only half of the shit show and I would argue the least important half. There is probably less than a 10% chance this works out because you are asking a 73 year old egomaniac to completely change his personality and become a person who emotionally connects with his players, fires his nepotism staff, puts a short leash on his GF, begins to embrace fans, and hires a staff that he empowers to do their jobs. Do you think any of that is likely? If not, then he needs to be fired now so that more time isn’t wasted. As I've said before, I'm still going to wait and give him and the staff more than 5 games before I decide it's a failure and never will work. Did James Franklin skip out of Thursday practice early and spend all weekend in a non-recruiting area for Penn State -- an area that just happens to be a frequent vacation spot for Belichick?James Franklin was up there seeing the same player the prior Fri during PSU's bye.
And don't forget that all the players were off that entire weekend.
There was a Michigan coach there as well. We had friends that were at the game. There were several high profile coaches. Were they all head coaches?I’m not sure.Did James Franklin skip out of Thursday practice early and spend all weekend in a non-recruiting area for Penn State -- an area that just happens to be a frequent vacation spot for Belichick?
Unfortunately, it takes 3-4 years to build a program. So it looks like it’s going to be a few years of Bunting ball. How anyone could watch that first quarter against Clemson and *still* JCD for Bill Belichick is beyond comprehension. I don't have an objection to Bill seeing that guy (although it would be more fruitful to focus on our recruiting footprint). I have a real issue with him leaving practice early and making it an entire four-day weekend with Jordon. He needs to be in and out and doing as much recruiting and work as humanly possible during an off week. There was a Michigan coach there as well. We had friends that were at the game. Did he spend 2 (or 3) nights in same spot while recruiting?James Franklin was up there seeing the same player the prior Fri during PSU's bye.

Where did you see he left practice early?Did James Franklin skip out of Thursday practice early and spend all weekend in a non-recruiting area for Penn State -- an area that just happens to be a frequent vacation spot for Belichick?

Regarding fires his staff, he directly stated upon hire it could take a yr toBut the call for him to be fired isn’t just based on the on field results alone. Where are you getting this stuff about skipping out early? AJ says he left after practice.Did James Franklin skip out of Thursday practice early and spend all weekend in a non-recruiting area for Penn State -- an area that just happens to be a frequent vacation spot for Belichick?
If players aren't practicing, is modern tech allowing BB to remotely scout, prep, meet, etc when not eating or doing other non-work?Did he spend 2 (or 3) nights in same spot while recruiting?
That’s what I’ve heard. We shouldn’t expect much from BB in year one. He needs time to build his program.Does it?
Indiana University, who made a great hire, would like to chat. That’s what I’ve heard. We shouldn’t expect much from BB in year one. He needs time to build his program.
