Article doesn’t mention whether or not we got the win.
All those people who keep complaining about posters here commenting on their relationship and yet she just won't go away and out of the spotlight, which I get the impression she craves.
Bill must be a proud pawpaw.
Yea, I expect a fair and balanced presentation with a lot of stuff that has yet to be reported. Cannot wait.
Did Belichick call plays this past season? Does he do that? I honestly don't know. I hope not.Garrick Mcgee and Petrino have some history.
Garrick was the QB coach and OC during Petrino's HC stint at Arky.
Similar AHC/QB/OC title during 2014-2015 during Petrino's HC time at Lville
(Also a reminder that OC title under a play-calling HC isn't the same as an OC under some HC like Mack Brown)
Is that possible when you don't talk to anyone on the sideline during the game? Would be difficult I'd imagine.Did Belichick call plays this past season? Does he do that? I honestly don't know. I hope not.
Him scripting 100% of plays, the entire game, with no regard for down, distance, score, outcomes, would actually be a good explanation for the play-calling in-game.Is that possible when you don't talk to anyone on the sideline during the game? Would be difficult I'd imagine.
My comment about play-calling HC's was regarding Petrino being the play-caller when Garrick was his OC. Garrick probably had input all week from scouting and scheming, and of course was coaching the QBs, but i'm Petrino does most of the heavy lifting schematically and in-game. And so Garrick's OC duties at that time would differ from those of Kitchens or Chip Lindsey, etc etcDid Belichick call plays this past season? Does he do that? I honestly don't know. I hope not.

Never heard of him but he can't be any slimier than the rest. College sports is full of them some are just more obvious, homie.I have less and less faith that sites like 247 and IC actually have insider access to the football program these days, but Andrew Jones posted an "update" a little while ago on 247 that seemed to imply- but did not outright say- that Chip Kelly and Bobby Petrino are the two lead candidates for our OC job.
I'd think that if the Kelly part were true, it would already be announced. He and Belichick know one another well, he's been available for a few weeks now, and he fits the mold of "experienced college and pro playcalling experience' that we're apparently looking for. I have some doubts as to how much of an elite offensive mind Kelly is in 2026 (versus his having definitely been one 10-15 years ago when his up-tempo, no-huddle, spread option/zone-read offense was incredibly novel) but there is no question that he'd be an enormous upgrade- to put it extraordinarily mildly- over what we had last year. The biggest questions for me would be 1. can he perform with the lesser talent he's going to have at UNC than what he had at Ohio State most recently; 2. does his well-known control freak personality mesh or clash with Belichick's similarly renowned one; 3. does his preferred style of play (up-tempo, no-huddle, high-risk) mesh and complement with Belichick's desired defensive philosophy?
If Kelly is the hire, then I have to commend Belichick for showing an uncharacteristic amount of flexibility and willingness to adapt outside of his comfort zone to a completely different offensive style of play than that which he typically desires. I also would commend him for invariably relinquishing control over the offensive side of the ball. Kelly might be the kind of guy who could make our otherwise probable 4-8 season next year be more like 6-6/7-5 and be much more palatable for making a case to extend this experiment to year 3.
On the other hand, if Bobby Petrino is the hire, I may have to consider being completely done with UNC football until this current experiment is over. He is a total scoundrel in every sense of the word, and has shown himself to be unreliable, undependable, unethical, and sleazy in quite literally every single coaching role he has had over the last two decades. It would be an incredibly disheartening signal that UNC truly does not have any type of moral compass remaining as it pertains to trying to win football games at all cost. Doesn't bother me in the slightest if that makes me seem like a prude- I fully stand by that belief.

Must be one helluva college football fan! You've never heard of Bobby Petrino?
this is his working history before he took the Arkansas OC job most recently. he has burned bridges with both his colleagues and his fans everywhere he has been. Coaches don't often speak ill of other coaches and even among them, Mike Zimmer's barely said a word against anybody in public, and he famously called Petrino a "gutless motherfucker."Never heard of him but he can't be any slimier than the rest.
