Thankfully we have feel good stories to read about our fourth-school-in-four-years QB with similar numbers as the QB we ran off.

Who is the gem of our portal class? I'd be fine if someone argued there wasn't a single diamond here and instead it was a group that was well-rounded and solid across the board, but that point cannot be made given the injury histories and lack of experience almost across the board. This looks like a bunch of fliers in search for diamonds in the rough cuz we blew our cash on true frosh.

Apparently we still don't have the budget to keep up with the big boys
I'm not even sure we can keep up with ACC portal-wise since apparently we spent so much on frosh. Tons of teams are getting raided, the way we lost our recent DTs, but also those teams are at least bringing in some guys that look like really solid additions.

Hoiloitte, Trech maybe the best 2. If i squint optimistically i can see 5 wins, but that would likely lead to starting over with a new coach.

OL in particular...at present I think we will have less than 10 P4 starts last season in aggregate across the entire line

ETA: Happy to be shown wrong. I'm just doing some back of envelope math here.

Is this our projected OL as of now?
LT - Hall; played in 5 games last season
LG - Banfield; started 4 games last season before injury
C - Kelly?; played in 2 games last season
RG - Threatt?; transfer from Charleston Southern
RT - McRoy; started 1 game last season and played in 6 total for Arkansas
Eidan Buchanan started the first game last yr at LT, spent much of that time bent over, reaching, whiffing, often landing on the ground. Then shows up on the participation report for game two vs Charlotte though it was Boone and McVay mostly at LT from what I recall. Then Buchanan doesn't see the field the rest of the yr.

So what made BB, Kitchens, and Will Friend start Buchanan over Boone, Hall, McVay? Those guys were benched in favor of Blaske once he finally returned, so I understand the coaches didn't like them as much, but did they see something special in Buchanan which might be expressed after a year in the program?

Jonah Rodriguez was recruited by Cal and Colo, so he might be someone to watch for PT.
