No that was the pitch from the get go. It wasn’t that we would never go after whales in the portal, just that if you gave Bill and Lombo $20 million, they could build the best roster in cfb because they knew how to build a better mousetrap. The idea was never that we would outspend the elites. It was that we would outthink them because we had NFL skills.

Shoot, we may be better. UCLA did better after firing Foster. Penn St did better after firing Franklin. Everything I saw last year leads me to believe that Belichick/Lombo will not work at Carolina.

It's not even the losing games that pisses me off the most. If I was truly pissed about losing games as a UNC football fan, I'd have long ago found a different hobby. It's the freaking gaslighting and goalpost shifting and excuse making that really annoys me more than anything else. At best these guys are either clueless and simply in over their head trying to navigate a sport that they simply do not understand and have no real interest in trying to understand, and at worst they are grifting con-artists. Either way, it's embarrassing.

There is no way anyone with functioning brain matter can listen to, and take seriously, someone complain about having too many new players to be successful last year, while turning right around and bringing in almost as many new players this upcoming year. No way.
