If the bacne story is true, that's considerably stronger evidence than it appears because of Bayes.I’m a Mets homer but I’ve never seen/read credible accusations on Piazza.
I've heard the story is disputed. And it sure seems bad to conclude that someone is roiding simply because of bacne. But Piazza was already a bigtime power hitter, most of whose peers were using roids. So when you add some minor circumstantial evidence, the probability goes up significantly.
Now, it's not quite as definitive as Giambi's pituitary tumor (which isn't smoking gun evidence but again do the Bayes calculation there and you get a very, very high % chance), but it's not nothing.
