And lots of people think it's both. Some people say he wasted generational talents at QB. Others know we would have been starting Chucky Burnette without him.

Didn’t Mack 1.0 recruit Chuckie Burnette and then break what was pretty much a cardinal rule of college football at the time (“Thou shall not start true freshman QB’s”)?I guess you didn't read all of my posts, or perhaps you just don't have very good reading comprehension. I said it's time for him to go because he can't even recruit his way to 7 wins any more. But yes I am fine with what he did until this year. And we're about to find out why. I live out of state and try to do a reunion trip with college friends centered around a home football game every year. This is the first year in a long time that I wasn’t able to drum up enough interest in the group to make it happen. No one explicitly said they are boycotting the program, but that’s essentially where we’re at.Don't go, dude. I haven't since 2022 when I finally came to the realization that UNC football in sports masochism and I'm no longer subjecting myself to it. I may watch here and there from the comfort of my own home but I'm largely emotionally and financially divested from the UNC football program.
It's entirely possible but I don't remember back that far. I just remember having two Burnetts at QB that looked very different but both sucked. Those were the days before everyone knew everything about every recruit and Chucky came in with a lot of hype for having the most passing yards in NC high school history or something. Then I talked to someone who went to high school with him who told me yeah that's because he threw the ball 5 yards sideways to so and so every time and he would run 75 yards after the catch.Didn’t Mack 1.0 recruit Chuckie Burnette and then break what was pretty much a cardinal rule of college football at the time (“Thou shall not start true freshman QB’s”)?
This is us. Football games are a time to spend time with mom and dad. We will go for that reason, but ONLY for that reason. It really sucks that things fell apart so quickly this year. It means I have to wait almost a full year before I can (hopefully) look forward to another UNC football game. I hope Mack announces his resignation (officially this time) sooner than later. Having someone new that at least has a chance to move things forward in a positive direction would add a little fun for me.
I go to all the home games with family so I'll be there for Pitt this Saturday. Can't say I'm too excited though.

‘Bama v. Georgia was on a completely different plane than the rest of college football except for maybe 4-5 other teams.I didn't watch one second of the dook game. In fact, I didn't watch any college football at all until later that night when a friend told me the Georgia/Alabama game was nuts so I tuned in to the last bit of the fourth quarter. I shouldn't even had watched that because those two teams were on a totally different level than what UNC and, frankly, what the rest of the ACC plays on Saturdays.
The silver lining is that Mack failed early enough this year that we didn't get our hopes up for a better than barely decent season. At least that saved some of the emotional roller coaster. It really sucks that things fell apart so quickly this year. My biggest gripe with Mack is not pushing for a great d to go with that offensive talent. Wasted a fantastic opportunity. Next gripe is he stayed too long. He wasn’t a bad hire initially but he’s steering us on to the rocks now.I guess you didn't read all of my posts, or perhaps you just don't have very good reading comprehension. Yikes! So it seems. We had a D-lineman who shall not be named grade out at 0.0 PFF last week, so there's symmetry, I guess?
It's unfortunately not much more difficult. Homecoming. If this doesn't fire the entire hierarchy in charge of football, nothing will.At least with the blue seats now, it's harder to tell how empty the stands are.
