I wasn't sure quite what to make of us preseason due to the uncertainty around the QB position, but I thought we'd very likely be somewhere between 6-6 and 8-4.

I have little faith we'll make 6-6 at this point.
6-6?

We are 3-4. There is quite literally no way we go 3-2 in our remaining games. We will be EXCEPTIONALLY LUCKY to go 1-4 in them and not 0-5.

Haha. Seth was pretty good here
I know but this is the worst OU offense I can remember and Seth seems lost.

In his defense we don’t have a single player who started last year and our top five receivers are out. But that can’t excuse the complete disarray we have on offense.

I wouldn't go that far. Florida State, NC State and Wake Forest aren't very good. BC is certainly winnable and really so is UVA. I definitely wouldn't say it's literally no way.

We will trade you for Chip Lindsey.

Jokes aside, OU might be looking at a pretty big staff shakeup after this season if the offense continues to struggle like this. I don’t think Venables is on the hot seat or anything, but it wouldn’t surprise me if he overhauls the offensive staff.

I made a 5-7 worst case scenario prediction and some replied that we had too much talent for that to happen. Which is true on paper but some of us just never learn our lesson with Tar Heel football. Program just has the yips and everything that can go wrong seems to happen more often than not around here.

I think the program having the yips is the simplest way to put it.

They’ve lost in so many different ways that even when it looks like we have the game in control or have a good chance to win, every coach and player on each team, the fans in the stadium, and everyone watching at home is all just expecting us to blow it somehow.

At least we always meet the expectations.

No way we win at UVa. Of the road games, maybe BC is attainable.
Wake at home is our best bet

I guess another way to look at our schedule the rest of the way is this - do you trust our defense to be able to stop the offense of any of our remaining opponents enough times for our offense to hopefully win the game? Maybe our defense can handle Wake Forest, but that's about it, and even that may be a stretch. Too often our defense looks like the Keystone Kops or Three Stooges out there.

What worries me is that we are looking at teams like WF as a vulnerable opponent that could be a realistic win, but everyone else left on our schedule is probably thinking the same thing about us.

Like FSU for example. Their season is toast and they’ve been struggling badly, but Norvell will still be motivated to scrap for some wins to build some sort of momentum for next season. When they go on the road to face a much better team like Clemson, they weirdly might not be as motivated because they know they don’t have much of a chance to win. Conversely, it’s a much more attainable win to get a weak team like UNC at home, and they might be even more locked in and focused because of that.

Yeah. I think Florida State, UNC, Wake Forest, and NC State are looking at each other and thinking that's a possible win. I don't think any of them should be thinking it's a definite win.
