Steady hand but hopefully the young bloods will step up for him! You can tell he’s the quiet leader of this squad.

The only positive is that all but 3 of those games we should still win even without Seth. The Michigan State, UK, and Georgetown games will all be tough to win without him, but doable. Hopefully he won't be out any longer than that.
The biggest problem I see with this injury is reintegrating Seth in January after Luka has locked down the shooting guard role. If we are rolling with the big lineup, which has shooting and length, I’m worried that Seth coming back in January is going to mess up the chemistry and take a while for everyone to get acclimated to the new roles.

The only silver lining is this is the position we have the most quality depth with the least drop off. Lose defense and gain outside shooting. It was nice being able to bring someone like Luka off the bench but he’s certainly capable of taking over the starting role.

The chemistry question is a good one, but if we’re rolling that’s a decent problem to have. Would allow us to integrate him back into the lineup slowly. The later he comes back the harder it would be though.

A crappy day just got crappier with this news. Hope he can come back by ACC play.

Don't sleep on Jonathan Powell...not that he is going to move into the starting lineup but he has had impressive (from what I heard) play in practice and scrimmages, especially as a defender.

I like J Powell a lot

No hesitation looking for his shot and can pick up some of the tougher defensive assignments

Seems like a player who definitely will get better with more mins

I went to the WSSU game and at halftime he stood in one of the wings just drilling deep ball after deep ball. I fully expect him to have a game or two where he hits 4 or 5 3's this year.

Easier/better to reintegrate in January than in early March 1984 with Kenny Smith.

Yes, much.

If we had to lose a player to a broken bone, a break to the forearm of the shooting guard in early November is just about the best case scenario for UNC. This could have been much, much worse.

Yes, the only positive is that the injury occurred after the 2nd game of the season. Plenty of time between mid January and the end of March to get the chemistry/rotation back in sync.

If Powell can be the dog on defense that i have heard reports that he is, then this could be a blessing in disguise.

Getting Powell real minutes to prove if he is a true "3 and D" guy would be huge if so. Then when Seth returns we have 2 guys who can be "stoppers" -- really think this team has the chance to be special defensively given their length and depth

The scuttlebutt is that Seth broke his arm when a workout machine fell on him during the team workout session.

If true, that's got to be one of the more random injuries I've ever heard about in college sports.

You mean like the weights fell? Or they're tossing machines around?

Hate it for Seth, he seems like such a likeable player. Time to step up Luka, Derek, and Jonathan.

I think Joel Berry's punching the wall because he was mad at FIFA video game was more random.
