Wonder what became of Dante Mayo?

Russell Hawkins is also not listed on the 2025-26 roster.

I figured both could be grandfathered onto the roster, but maybe they choose to move on due to the House changes or maybe they got caught up in some kind of technicality?

Russell Hawkins looks like a young man with a bright future.

Since we are not allowed to have a JV team anymore, maybe they are doing one-time one-year walk-on spots to give regular students more chance to participate?

Hmmm, I count 16 players in the photograph...I believe that rosters have been limited to 15 by the recent regulation -- you could not even carry more than that if they were non-scholarship. Evan Smith might be feeling just a bit precariously perched.

The House settlement included a “grandfather” clause for any player who would lose a roster spot due to the settlement, allowing them to stay through the end of their college career and not count against the 15 player cap.

I can’t find if they had to be on scholarship or not, which may be in play here.

The brilliance of this BULLSHIT…..end JV ball for the tiny handful of schools with a JV program……then, limit the number of players on varsity…..exclude walk-ons.

This is as stupid as the NCAA regulations in the 2009 Final Four limiting the number of players, even walk-ons, on the bench.

At least one UNC player had to wear his uniform under his suit and do a Clark Kent-to-Superman clothing change to join his team on the court……and, he had NO CHANCE to play in that game.
