He was the point guard all last year for Colorado State and they had a better year than us. Yes, he only averaged 3.1 assists, so he is not a Kendall Marshall/Elliot Cadeau type PG, but he has plenty of experience playing PG. Plus, we will have many, many excellent passers on the team, including Veesaar and Bogavac, so I am not worried about assists (plus, Hubert's teams have generally not been very assist heavy).
Right...I meant he isn't a true point guard so apologies for the wording there. He is a scorer which is concerning when we need a true PG IMO. I'll be happy if I'm wrong.

I didn’t watch any Colorado State, but from what I heard he was a combo guard and he wasn’t usually the main playmaker.

I know it's a translated interview and you can only read those so closely, but I love this quote:

“North Carolina fans can expect a temperamental and characterful player, I will try to give 100 percent,” Bogavac said in the translated Vjiesti interview. “I have great energy, character. I know that the expectations are high and I will try to justify them. I like to be a man of decisions, I like to take the initiative. I like to ask questions, to make decisions. I know where I come from, that it is the University with the largest fan base in America. I will make sure that the team achieves as many victories as possible and goes to the very top.”

How much did you watch them play last year? It seemed like the majority of the possessions that I saw he'd bring it up the court then immediately pass off. From what I saw, I wouldn't say he ran point in the way that HD's offense utilizes its point. (I definitely didn't watch all of their games, but I did see several.)

I watched several whole games. He can play point in Hubert’s offense just fine - especially if he can hit north of 40% from 3.

I have a feeling Seth, Caleb, Henri and Luka are going to be the best players. Hope that's enough. I don't feel too confident about anyone else.

Their other guard was a 1st round pick so I’m sure he deferred quite a bit.

There’s a difference between differing and Clifford running the offense, which he did.

Evan’s will need to change his style of play and the role he’s used to playing in order to run point in HD’s offense. Whether he can do that and excel will be seen.

As Rick Pitino has noted: "There are no point guards anymore. If you find it, you're probably describing a guy who can't shoot."
Which year did we have two ball dominant combo-guards….one shot “meh” and the other shot for shit……we went from Preseason #1 to not in the NCAA Tournament……

A PG is a great player to have……..A PG who can shoot is a treasure.

The really shitty shooting and non-passing combo-guard left…..the other combo guard had an All-American season

5 perennially tough teams to start the season gives the Heels some early competition to gauge the season: Kansas, Michigan State, Kentucky, Georgetown and Ohio State. Not a cupcake early season slate of games by any stretch. Of course there are the usual supposedly "easy" games on the schedule too. But we should know by Christmas what kind of season to expect.

If we get off to a slow start and stumble through the first half of the season - which has been something of a trend under Davis - I have little doubt that by midseason Davis will be on a very hot seat and there will be very public rumblings and articles of him being let go at the end of the season. And as much as I hate to say it that will likely be deserved. Having said that, I'll remain an optimist about the season and hope for the best.
