Eh, I hear you, but they're currently ranked #17 on KenPom. That would be a very solid Q1 win for us.Im not certain id call ucla a signature win.

Ok i ll b the first to admit idk what kenpom is. Just looking at their schedule they havent beaten anyone and not ranked in poll im looing at but I ll take your word for it. Oh how we have fallen regardlessEh, I hear you, but they're currently ranked #17 on KenPom. That would be a very solid Q1 win for us.
Ahhh gotcha, gotcha, OK that is totally understandable and makes a ton of sense as to why you wouldn't consider UCLA a signature win (and honestly, you're right, I should call it a'quality' win not a signature win). Ken Pomeroy is the creator of the college basketball website and statistical archive KenPom. KenPom measures efficiency of all 363 Division I teams and helps predict how each team will fare game to game based on those advanced statistics when matched against their opponents.Ok i ll b the first to admit idk what kenpom is. KenPom has UCLA ranked 17th (UNC is currently 16th), so according to KenPom, UNC beating UCLA would be considered a high-quality win strictly as it pertains to which teams are the best in the country from an anayltical and statistical standpoint.
Over the past 5 games, Powell has averaged about 14 min/g at the 4 and 8 min/g at the 3.Can drake play the 4?
Well there are different levels of fandom. I watch sports because i enjoy the competition. I dont care about stats or polls.....i have my own eye test dont need a computer program or a nerd in someones basement to tell me what team is better than the next. Old school i reckon. I do glace at somethings periodically, but couldnt care less about Kenpons or all these ridiculous matrix based numbers. You were very patient and kind. A college basketball fan not knowing what kenpom is in 2024 is...interesting.
Totally agree. We desperately need at least one of those two or it’s going to be a stressful Selection Sunday unless we win 15, 16+ ACC games.UNC really needs a win tonight and against Florida later this month. The optimists keep saying that it is early and the team is still figuring every thing out. But losing all your decent OOC games and then relying on stacking wins against terrible ACC teams is not ideal. Any conference loss is going to be magnified and the wins won't move the needle unless it is against dook.
As bad as the rest of the ACC looks (though Miami looked like a dangerous matchup for us despite their ineptitude so far this season), finishing second with losses against anyone other than dook and Clemson may not be enough.Totally agree. Worst case scenarios are bad for every team.If we lose to Alabama, Florida, and UCLA I don't see any way that UNC makes the NCAA unless we win the ACC Tournament. It would take an 17-3 or better record in conference and I don't think we do that considering the limitations of this team.
I'm not at all surprised by this comment, based on previous posts.Well there are different levels of fandom. I watch sports because i enjoy the competition. Pitt is very good this season. Carolina has a killer stretch at the end of January with At Pitt, at dook, Pitt at home, and at Clemson. As bad as the rest of the ACC looks (though Miami looked like a dangerous matchup for us despite their ineptitude so far this season), finishing second with losses against anyone other than dook and Clemson may not be enough.
Makes me wonder if it is a coaching issue. Or at least the coach not being able to get the right players now. They are struggling so much on the defensive end. Like fundamentally bad. It's so crazy to see how bad they are right now.
