This is frustrating. We lost this game (and many others) due to our inability to execute at the end of the first half and the end of the game. For some reason we seem to panic or just get out of control when the stakes go up.

The pace tends to slow down at the end of games, defensive intensity amps up. When you can’t shoot, you’d damn sure better not turn the ball over and you’d better learn how to get to the line and make crunch time FTs.
RJ, for all his gifts, is just not a natural leader. Combine the leadership void with those things and you’ll have problems finishing games strong.

This 4 guard line up isn't working. Not sure if Hubert is going to get it figured out.
Unfortunately I'm not sure there is anything to get figured out. When we missed on a big man it likely killed any chance this season. The only serviceable big we have is JWash and that is only on the offensive end. Lubin is terrible at this level and Withers can't be counted on to not make inexplicable plays every time he's on the floor. None of them can rebound. All of this falls on Hubert and with 2 years out of 4 missing the tournament next year is going to be a game by game litmus test, which is obviously not great.

Duke would require an upset not seen in the rivalry since? Just about the worst matchup imaginable for this team
Finishing the season 8-2 and playing well in the ACCT would lessen the sting but I just can't see it

woof. 21-22 was decent, 23-24 was program standard. the other 2 seasons are horrific.
bryan is a good dude, we were buddies at UNC. he's built himself a pretty sweet career.
And the 21-22 was influenced by the NCAA tournament run.

I think the less ball movement you have and trying to make passes off the dribble and trying to create shots off the dribble all the time creates more turnovers.Wow, Pitt had 12 pts off of turnovers at half last night.

I think it's one thing if Flagg beats you but letting other guys get rolling and it could get ugly
Glad I'm not trying to come up with the defensive scheme in this one....

My guess is they double Flagg and force someone else to beat us, which then happens.

Hubert has been reluctant to double at times but we've seen him do it more this season than last. Just have to be smart with it, because I don't think helping off the number of good shooters Duke has ends well
Think this is a game you have to play Withers, understanding he's going to get cooked at times and make mistakes. Besides Drake, no one else on the roster is close to matching up physically
Glad he's coming off a stretch of games where he's playing 5 mins
