There's pretty much no one with close ties to the program left to consider, so I think you're safe there.I kind of hope the next coach has no relationship to UNC so it doesn’t make me sad when he gets ripped apart by the fans.

I could totally imagine Coach Jordan at the helm. There's pretty much no one with close ties to the program left to consider, so I think you're safe there.
She spells it “Jordon.”I could totally imagine Coach Jordan at the helm.![]()
Agreed. There's no Roy Williams or anything close out there right now. I think Hubert will be the last stand of the old UNC/Dean Smith coaching family tree, which is one reason why I hoped he would be successful. It's been a truly remarkable run of coaches. And his staff is filled with UNC greats - Sean May, Jeff Lebo, Marcus Paige, etc. There's pretty much no one with close ties to the program left to consider, so I think you're safe there.
I won $100 in power ball this week.I wonder which one has the best odds - getting a foot of snow in the Triangle, winning the lottery, or UNC winning a national championship with Hubert Davis.
I don't know whether to give this a thumbs up or a sad face.I won $100 in power ball this week.
One more number and I would be retired.
Gotta include an annual $200 million NIL budget.John Scheyer. Offer him $100 mil.
I think, when push comes to shove, we might find coaches willing to be the first coach at UNC after the position leaving the family to be a bit more hesitant than you might think, especially with us being so quick to abandon Hubert. I know and understand the objections to Hubert although I'm nowhere close to being in full agreement. That doesn't mean that everyone will feel like he's been that terrible. Even those that do are likely to be just a bit gun shy about doing better when they are likely to start off more disadvantaged. Do you really imagine our fan base developing more patience or our program in more disarray? My first call would be Dusty May. Yes, he already has it made at Michigan. Yes, it would be impossibly difficult to imagine him leaving. Yes, every college coach dreams of coaching at Duke, Carolina, Kansas, or Kentucky. Make the call and make the case.
This is a good point. However, I do think there are a number of coaches who see UNC is not realizing its potential and know it can do better.I think, when push comes to shove, we might find coaches willing to be the first coach at UNC after the position leaving the family to be a bit more hesitant than you might think, especially with us being so quick to abandon Hubert. Yes, but are they willing and capable of doing the job with the shot clock running? This is a good point. However, I do think there are a number of coaches who see UNC is not realizing its potential and know it can do better.

I think that's all there is for me to say that has any possible value in this discussion.
We are not quick at all to abandon Hubert. 5 years in this era is more than enough time. 1 miracle 4 weeks does not make a good coach. Some people may be hesitant to leave but it won’t be bc of our actions in regard to HubertI think, when push comes to shove, we might find coaches willing to be the first coach at UNC after the position leaving the family to be a bit more hesitant than you might think, especially with us being so quick to abandon Hubert. It's 5 years and you might be surprised to learn that coaches are shocked that we stuck with such recruiting and coaching failures for so long. The interval is long enough.I think, when push comes to shove, we might find coaches willing to be the first coach at UNC after the position leaving the family to be a bit more hesitant than you might think, especially with us being so quick to abandon Hubert. Agreed. Two disasters of coaches in the most prominent roles, an increasingly hostile and politicized administration, moving the Dome off campus while reducing student seating by 40%, and no clue on NIL. He is getting out just in time.I bet Bubba is glad he is stepping aside
Don’t get me wrong I like him
this is ridiculous framing. we're in the midst of his 5th season at the helm.especially with us being so quick to abandon Hubert.
