It's probably fine if the men's soccer team continues to struggle. We have no chance in 2026. Every single call is going to go against us. That's what happened in 2006 after Iraq War fiasco. If Trump keeps up with this bullshit, as surely he will, I'd forecast multiple red cards for the US team in the three games it will get to play.

Multiple Countries Just Issued Travel Warnings for the U.S.

“… Several countries, including longtime allies like Australia, Canada, and the U.K., are now warning their citizens about traveling to the United States, according to Yahoo.

Australia updated its advisory in June, flagging gun violence, civil protests, and unpredictable immigration enforcement. While its guidance remains at Level 1 (“exercise normal safety precautions”), Australian officials urged travelers to stay alert in crowded places like malls, transit hubs, and public venues. They also warned about the Visa Waiver Program, noting that U.S. authorities can deny entry without explanation.

New Zealand raised its alert to Level 2 due to reports of citizens being detained or delayed over documentation discrepancies. Canada followed suit, adding warnings about violent crime and mass shootings in major cities including Los Angeles, New York, and Chicago. Canadian officials also highlighted drug trafficking near the U.S.-Mexico border as a growing concern.

… Germany, France, Denmark, and Finland all issued warnings about new U.S. gender marker policies that may affect travelers who use “X” or nonbinary identifiers. Since January, entry has been denied in some cases unless travel documents match the sex assigned at birth.

… The U.K. took it a step further. Its Foreign Office warned that minor entry mistakes could lead to detention or deportation, and emphasized the variability of laws across different U.S. states….”

Surreal to read this, especially on the 4th. The US is (accurately) viewed as a social and political dumpster fire by the international community.

How can anyone think this administration’s immigration policies are good for America? It is truly astounding.

How does one remove left-wing content from their phone?

Would Frederick Douglass’ “The Meaning of the 4th of July to the Slave” be a troublemaking item if found in my ‘Notes’?

How about MLK Jr’s “Letter From Birmingham Jail”?

The link to the ZZLP?

In all seriousness, you’ll be fine. I went back and forth to Mexico recently and literally never had to speak to a single person in customs.

Well, it was a joke but my guess is that both of those documents would lead to further inspection. You've got to remember that the average CBP staffer doesn't have an undergrad course in history. They might not even know who Frederick Douglass is, like a certain president of ours.

So you’re saying as long as there are no pictures I’m good?

Probably best to wipe out anything Guatemala related, which I doubt is possible for you given how closely your life seems to be intertwined with that country and its people.

But as lawtig said, you're almost certainly safe. Just don't do anything that might get anyone's attention. Please, thank you, yessir, look straight ahead in line, etc. But you know that, probably way way better than I do.

Guatemala is all over my passport as it is my daughter's. We actually have KTNs anyway so are "known" in the system.

Well, there it is. It's really sad that we are even joking around like this. Remember when the thought of being detained upon entry wouldn't even cross our minds?
Well...to be honest I've been detained twice when entering Latin American countries so it is always kind of in the back of my mind...but as you say, just never when coming home.

Fair enough. For all the GOP shouted about the US becoming a "banana republic" if we prosecuted a president for his crimes, they've pretty much turned us into one.
