Well, shit

I’ve been sick for almost a month. Never tested for Rona. Started with bad sore throat for 3 days. Then major sinus congestion and generally feeling bad for 1.5 weeks. For the last 1.5 weeks congestion, cough and generally low energy. Both kids had it as well but they seem to be getting over it.

Got my flu shot yesterday and have felt like shit all day today. I have never had a problem with the flu shot before. Hoping it is just from the side effects and not the Rona.

Never tested, or never tested positive? Because that sounds a lot like Rona.

Never tested. I suspect it probably is/was. Definitely worse than my first round with COVID back in 2020. I'm not in the Paxlovid age bracket, so not sure there is much I can take.

My husband
More messages from sick students coming in this morning.
is back teaching and he has said they already have what seems like an unusual number of kids out sick and coming to school sick.

I got my annual physical on Wednesday and they asked if I wanted to go ahead and get my flu shot which I did - I asked about the COVID vaccine and apparently the clinic I go to is not doing COVID shots this fall - and this is a UNC Healthcare family medicine office

I got my flu and COVID (new one — she made a point of showing me the box) shots this morning at a CVS Minute Clinic.

She said that because of the uncertainty, in NC at least the CVS pharmacists cannot give the COVID vaccine for now but the Minute Clinics can do so. She said since everyone else today has asked, they don’t know if there will be a COVID booster later this year.

She also said they’ve seen a huge increase in visits to get the COVID vaccine — sounds like Friday was the first day she worked that they offered it and by her account it was packed her entire shift — all appointments taken and people trying to walk-in.
