WH Correspondent’s Dinner - Trump evacuated, shooter in lobby

I agree with the admin cartoonishly attempting to exploit it for their benefit. Much different than calling it staged like multiple people have done on this thread. And this on one instance when I do t think giving ram and the rest of the doofus brigade “a taste of their own medicine” is helpful at all. When this stuff circulates on social media plenty of people start to actually buy it. Which is how we all end up paranoid and even more hopelessly at each others’ throats.
What people believe on social media can no longer be considered relevant or important. It is flooded with utter BS 24/7/365. An event like this isn’t needed for propagation of lunacy.

Please stop with the “staged” discussion. Speculating about that with zero evidence is not only not helpful, it’s harmful. The Trump admin openly does so much obviously deranged and idiotic stuff that it’s not necessary to speculate about even crazier stuff. Just plays in to the BS social media conspiracy mindset the right has carefully cultivated.

If we get some evidence it was staged, by all means go hog wild. Until then it’s irresponsible to talk like that.
I believe all these things to be true:
An alien spacecraft crashed in Roswell, New Mexico in 1947 and our government has been trying to cover it up ever since.

Multiple shooters were responsible for JFK’s assassination, which was planned by members of our government.

The Clintons run (or at least ran) a criminal organization and have ordered successful hits on numerous people to cover up their wrongdoings.

9/11 was an inside job.

Barack Obama was born in Kenya and has a forged birth certificate. He is secretly Muslim.

The 2020 election was stolen.

The assassination attempts on Trump we’re staged.

Professional wrestling is real.

Paul McCartney is, and has been, dead and has been replaced with a lookalike.

Michael Jordan was just dealing with a bad hangover during the 1997 “Flu Game.”

A hot dog is a sandwich.

Hate to harm biz for already-strapped hotels, but never understood why to hold an event like this at a hotel. Tough to account for existing guests and their activities.

Plenty of secure areas in DC to hold these without similar problems IMO.

I wouldn't put anything past this administration, but I'm usually skeptical of conspiracy talk, especially when there's no direct evidence, so I'm doubtful this was a staged event in that the shooter was put up to it.

Having said that, what is appalling (and telling) is how quickly Trump 2.0 did turn this incident into an excuse to plug Trump's gaudy damned ballroom. Within a half-hour of the shooting Trump held a press conference where he rambled on, incredibly, about how this "proved" the need for his ballroom, and as shown above there was clearly some coordinated effort to flood social media with tweets and posts saying the same. So an assassination attempt in which a person died is quickly transformed into a shameless sales event for Trump's ballroom, which polls show the great majority of people don't want. And it's not going to work, as selling the ballroom in this way only trivializes the entire shooting and isn't going to change anyone's minds about the ballroom.

And no doubt something will happen today or tomorrow with the Iran War or some other dumbass Trump move or decision and this incident will be forgotten by the middle of the week, if not sooner. With Trump there is always another disaster or blunder, another offensive statement or social media post, another scandal by a minion, another firing, more bad economic news, or something terrible happening pretty much every day, and sometimes multiple times in a day.

And on a side note, if this administration didn't lie about everything under the sun on a daily basis then none of the conspiracy/staged shooting talk would be happening. When you're more likely to believe the Iranian government than your own then that really says it all about the trustworthiness and ethics of the current administration - they have no ethics, or morals, or standards. Hell, on another thread there's a post about how a Fox News journalist pretended to sit in a diner and interview an "average American" about Trump, and it turns out that the guy he interviewed is a leader of Charlie/Erika Kirk's Turning Point USA organization. And the Fox reporter never mentioned it, nor did the network. In such an environment is it really so hard to believe that they would be capable of staging a stunt like this? And as I said I don't think they did, at least until some direct evidence emerges, but there's no doubt that they're capable of it.

I remember back in 1994 when the Final Four was in Charlotte and Bill Clinton came to the games. No fans were allowed to leave the arena until the Clinton entourage had left.

probably should not have left the guy alive who was your stooge . I genuinely am curious how they could pull this stuff off. And why?

Not saying that I believe in a set-up but the same question could be asked about why let Epstein live so long?

Before the dinner, they interviewed Karoline Leavitt who said , "This speech tonight will be classic Donald J. Trump. It'll be funny, it'll be entertaining, there will be some shots fired tonight at the room..."

I'm just sayin'...
