Is there a White Lotus thread? I’d don’t see one, but delete if there is. I feel like this show deserves its own thread, particularly with one of this season’s storylines. That storyline involves a family consisting of two Duke grads (dad and oldest son), a UNC grad (mom), a UNC student (daughter), and a son in high school who is trying to decide whether to go to UNC or Duke.

Parker Posey representing the UNC interest.

In episode 1, it’s impressive how they provide such a solid introduction to all the characters in just an hour.

One thing I really missed though was the theme song from last season, I felt it really brought the show together.

oh man. my best friend excitedly texted me about this unc/dook storyline yesterday.

i probably need to get out of this thread as i haven't watched yet but i will soon and i CANT WAIT.

Loved season 1, never saw season 2 (watched the first episode and my husband found everyone too unlikeable ... tried again several months later, with same result, so I've seen the first episode of season 2 twice but nothing else from that season). Curious about the new season because I liked season 1 so much.

I do think you need to watch season 2 before starting this season. While most of the storylines of each season are confined to the season they’re in, there is one thing that connects each season.

I became of fan of Carrie Coon while watching The Leftovers. I'm stoked she's in this season of TWL.

I haven't watched any of S3 yet but really looking forward to it. I was watching Silo which put me several episodes behind on Severance. I'll hold off on White Lotus until I can watch it with my girlfriend. (I could not get her into Severance.)

One thing I like about White Lotus is that the resort setting just makes me happy, even though of course the people are always rich and spoiled.

I watched season 2 before I had watched any Sopranos. I didn't know who Michael Imperioli was but it struck me that he was a young guy in Sopranos and an older guy in White Lotus. Made me feel really old.

Season 2 is better than Season 1. It just takes some time.

When Jennifer Coolidge says: "I think the gays are trying to kill me" it is peak White Lotus.

Yep. I was NOT expecting that one thing to show up this season. And agreed with the other poster's comment about how much we learn about each character from just one episode. I'll miss Tonya but I think we're in for another wild ride.

Theme song this season is amazing. And the needle drops of Thai psych rock and adjacent (like Khruangbin) are pretty great.
