I had been using the Wordle certified best starter word recently, but this morning used my own starter word out of habit — turned out to be lucky.

No. Wordlebot uses “PLATE” — it says that is the most efficient starter word based on its analysis of Wordle play. I did not use that today (out of habit reverted to the one I’ve been using since I started playing).

My only 1-guesser was my starter word I'd used for a while - TRASH - but switched it up to a different one when that hit and I've used that one ever since. Maybe one day it'll hit again. Been using it for ~2 years now, so who knows.

I used to alternate between LEAST and STARE, but STARE was the solution on a day I used LEAST. Now I use LEAST every day.

Interesting that is doesn’t have an “s” in it.

If you ever hit on LEAST, you could switch to STEAL and still use all the same letters.

I failed at Wordle today. Will be interested to see what the board and NYTimes averages are today. I'm guessing north of 4. Already had a flurry of 5's, 6's and fails from various Wordle text buddies...
