Wordle thread

Switching starter words always takes me a few days to get used to it. But I don’t really think of today’s solution as a common word (probably my location bias or something).

I don’t think it’s common either, but Wordlebot tells me it was the only word left after my second guess.

BTW, I see the bot returned to stating with PLATE today.

Switching starter words always takes me a few days to get used to it. But I don’t really think of today’s solution as a common word (probably my location bias or something).

That last part is an understatement for me. I don't think I've ever heard this word before, or if I have, I don't remember it and had to look it up. In fact, I had two greens and two yellows on second guess, such that I knew what the last four letters (in order) had to be. I tried every feasible letter in the first position and looked up every one of them and I'd never heard of any of them. Ended up trying one of them and Wordle rejected it, so I plugged in another and that was the answer. Least satisfying 3 ever...
