I did this at 4am and completely blew the second word by putting my one yellow letter in the same place. I do play in hard mode so apparently you can do this in hard mode.

Yes you can. I've made that mistake as well as using letters that I've already eliminated.

Yes, it will allow you to make a letter placement mistake, but it won’t allow you to omit a letter that is already been uncovered.

Odd board from one of my text buddy's today. Second letter green on first guess, and that remained the state of play thru his third guess. He added a mere meager yellow square on line 4, then solved...
