Having only worked for one company, I really don't know where I land regarding salary.

I do know I'm thankful for where I am and what I have.

I was gonna note this. I put in 6% for the pension, employer "matches". I also get 2% deposited into a 401(a). Plus what I set aside on my own.

I submitted the voluntary separation request.

I have 72 hours to rescind it.

My manager submitted his and he's done.

The director stopped by and talked for about an hour, but he's non committal about the promotion.

Oddly enough, my boss just asked me to come up with a proposal for a global early retirement program.

July 01 , 2015 I retired because I was offered a 4 mth salary pay "bonus".
At that point working for the McCroy admin was pretty miserable and I had exceeded my 30 years towards a defined pension

Don't take this the wrong way, but it's none of your wife's business what you choose to do with your go-forward career. It may impact her, but once she said she wants a divorce she's given up her right to have a say in your future.
