I was disappointed after all the hype surrounding this show when I first watched it. Every season is basically "X is trying to steal our land, we have to stop them from stealing our land!" IDK. It was just missing something. I don't think I made it past season 3.

Most of the characters are horrible people. Kayce's wife and son, and the ranch hands except for Rip are really the only good ones. Jamie is supposed to be the bad guy I guess, but I don't blame him for hating John and Beth with the way they always treated him.

I don't watch this show on any kind of regular basis but I've seen a few episodes. I've got to admit that one of my favorite lines I can remember from any show was when Beth was walking out of the house and Costner said "Ah, the blushing bride" and Beth said "Oh daddy, I got the blush fucked outta me a long time ago"...

Writing Beth out probably wouldn’t have gone over well. She seems to be a lot of viewers’ favorite character.
