But seriously, why are their shake machines always out of order?
The Taylor ice cream machines are like an Italian sports car -- when they are in peak working order they're amazing but without intense maintenance the hundreds of intricate parts quickly break down. And they're so complicated it requires a special maintenance contract with the manufacturer Taylor. Repairing a machine can take up to 4 hours. The menus are incredibly complicated. Etc. Etc.

The chances anyone from Trump’s side even asked McDonalds if Kamala ever worked there are pretty much nil.
"Asking McDonalds" wouldn't do any good. She likely worked for a franchisee, not corporate. Verification would require knowing at which McDonalds she worked, who owned the franchise at that time, and hope records still exist.

Given it was likely in the 80s, those records, if in existence, would almost certainly be paper, too

But will they vote? They never have before, but maybe Trump can defy the odds on that factor, too.
If I wasn’t so scared about the election’s outcome, I would be really interested and excited to see whether this strategy of turning out low propensity young men works.

Then I amend that to say the odds they made any effort whatsoever to determine whether Kamala worked for McD or for a franchisee before declaratively stating she did not are virtually nil.

Why does/do Trump and the Republicans have some weird fetishization and obsession with whether Kamala Harris worked at freaking McDonald’s? What an unbelievably bizarre insecurity.

Fair enough. I’m more concerned about the chances my kid comes home from school today with boobs and with his penis lopped off, but I guess it’s all a matter of personal priorities.
Look on the bright side. You aren't having to explain to him why immigrants are eating his pets!

My hunch is that they had some low-level campaign worker call McD's corporate office and ask if they could verify that Kamala actually worked there. As has been noted, since she worked there in the 1980s and almost certainly at a franchisee, there's essentially no way corporate would have those records. McD's either said that they aren't allowed to verify that or that they didn't have that info and the Trump campaign is spinning "we have no answer to provide" as "she didn't work there" so they can create a cheap attack.

What gets me is that folks who work these kinds of retail/service jobs aren't pissed about Trump making a big deal out of it and "working" at a McD's for an hour or so. I know a lot of folks who work retail/service jobs and they share that the real problem of these jobs are that they grind you down and that the pay is never enough. Trump wouldn't learn about that by taking a short shift at the fryer nor handing food out the window to a few people. If I were a regular McD's worker, I'd be pissed that Trump wants to make my job a punch line for his campaign.

I did not now that the transgender affirming care in prisons was a Trump administration policy...
