Mamdani is going to win. Cuomo is a terrible candidate and no Republican is going to win NY, especially with a Republican president in office.

How will the Democratic Party respond?
Sorry I'm just laughing at Trump saying Mamdani's principles have been tested for 1000 years. Yeah, I remember all those "rent control" debates in medieval Europe

How will the Dem Party to respond to Mamdani winning, if he does? Presumably by congratulating him and trying to find ways to work with and influence him. Is there something else they should do?

Not "should" necessarily. His win will be low-hanging fruit for the Right. There hasn't been much endorsement enthusiasm from Democrats. I'm just curious if they'll attempt to distance the party from some of his controversial, socialist/communist-leaning thoughts.

They should keep polls open past normal closing time to compensate for this reprehensible act.
I’m thinking a lot folks who vote blue also vote early. If I’m not mistaken, it’s the red voters who only (or primarily) show up on election day.

Also, if ALL of the bomb threats are only at predominantly blue districts THIS WOULD BE a reason to declare voter fraud, voter interference, unfair election processes…. Bring lawsuits to have a re-vote, etc.

I believe the reason we have gotten where we are is not because we, collectively, have taken a hard right turn. Rather, it’s based on apathy. Part of it is based on apathy toward getting out and voting and another part of it— perhaps the bigger part— is apathy toward staying informed.
I’ve got a friend (mentioned him before, he hates ACA and claims it significantly increased his rates) who absolutely loathes any type of Christianity that says that homosexuality is wrong etc. Can’t stand it. Yet this same individual has been completely silent on the anti LGBTQ policies of the Republican Party. Best he could do was vote for neither Harris or Trump in the last election. Completely boggles my mind.

Who would the law suit be against?

There are still Trump campaign signs in some yards around where I live.

There are some people in my neighborhood who have had Trump signs/flags, etc. up on their property since 2020. And when the signs or flags are faded or frayed they get new ones to replace them. I've never seen that kind of obsessive hero-worship for any other political candidate, including Obama. One guy in our neighborhood still has multiple yard signs and flags on his house and he even changes them out occasionally (a favorite seems to be his "The Outlaw and The Hillibilly 2024" yard sign). He also has a Don't Tread on Me and a Confederate Battle Flag hanging from his house as well as the blue Trump 2024 & Trump 2020 flags. And my neighborhood is a nice one with nice homes and pretty mixed politically (there were some Kamala signs last year, although they disappeared pretty quick after the election, as usually happens even with the winning candidate. But not Trump.)
