In the NC GOP state senate primary between Phil Berger and Sam Page, Page leads Berger 55% to 45% with about half of all precincts reporting. Unfortunately for Page, nearly all Rockingham County precincts have reported and most of what is left is in Guilford County, where's he's not as well known and Berger is favored. Still, losing your lifelong home county by double digits is petty telling of what Berger's neighbors think of him. But if he can win Guilford by enough to prevail I'm sure he won't care about that at all.

I don't care if Page is more loony than Lara Loomer and twice as extreme as Steven Miller, I will laugh my ass off from now to eternity if Phil Berger loses a Republican primary.

Yeah. It’s one of those “I better be careful what I wish for” things, but, man oh man, it would be nice to see Berger’a reign end.

Unfortunately I think if Berger does get ousted and has to be replaced as president pro-tem of the Senate, it’ll be kind like what’s going on in Iran.

When we flip like 50 House seats and flip the Senate in November we’re never going to see our board MAGAts around here ever again are we?

With 90% of all precincts reporting, Sam Page leads Phil Berger 50.7% to 49.3%, or by about 400 votes. 5 precincts are still out, all in Guilford County, which would seem to favor Berger. There may be a recount in this one either way.

Page now leads Berger by 172 votes with 2 precincts still out. Both precincts are in Guilford County, where Berger has been winning by a wide margin.

Tony Gonzalez’ counterintuitive late push to affirm his Republican credentials appears to have paid off.

I'm pretty sure the Republican House leadership desperately - albeit not openly - wants Gonzales to lose that primary so they don't have to keep answering inconvenient questions about why this piece of shit scumbag is still in Congress
