Seeing some calls for Talarico.
There seems to be a push not to call until the mess in Dallas (which is all about the general election and the fight to prevent courts from extending voting hours) is sorted.

“…
State Rep. Carla Cunningham, who has represented the 106th district in North Carolina’s House of Representatives since 2013, lost to Reverend Rodney Sadler by nearly 50 percentage points, 70% to 22%. The 106th district encompasses parts of Charlotte.

In July, Cunningham cast the lone Democratic vote to override Governor Josh Stein’s veto of a Republican bill that forced local law enforcement agencies to work closely with Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The legislation required sheriffs to determine whether county inmates are citizens and to detain them for longer if ICE requested it.…”

Respectfully this guy has been full of a lot of BS for a while. He may be right in this situation but I need that message from someone else.

Strikes me as just as likely that Paxton figured Crockett would beat Talarico and by cutting out late Dallas votes the pubs would prevent her from a majority. The pubs probably wanted the Dems in a nasty runoff as much or more than a particular Dem candidate. At least in this stage.

Also Crocket is winning Dallas county with just under 61% of the vote with 61% reporting. That currently equates to a 43k vote lead in Dallas while currently down in the popular vote by 110k. She was not winning either way. Now that does not speak to Paxton’s motives.

I agree. I don’t think Crockett was going to win, no matter what. But the stupid shit going on in Texas is just a dry run for this fall. Pubs know there is a reckoning coming.
