FINALLY
She was once great in her role but is clearly not up to the job anymore.
I do feel that X-ennials is a thing. I also feel much more kinship to the first half of the Millennial generation than I do to the first half of the Gen-X generation. My husband’s and my siblings born from 1974 forward (and their friends) all seem much more like millennials to us.
I have memories from the 1970s, but I’m 100% a child of the 80s.My husband and I are older Xers. Our view is that Gen X is two pretty distinct sub-generations — (x) the olds who were born in the 60s/remember being a kid in the 70s and the younger ones who more recall being kids in the 80s. Whether that has a political break between the two, I don’t know. Our impression has been that the older cohort skews more libertarian than the younger cohort, regardless of the overall left/right tilt otherwise. I think the moderate & conservative libertarians in the older cohort have definitely flocked to MAGA.
The old blue wall is no longer enough. Dems will need to consistently win in GA, AZ and NV. Maybe NC as well. TX would be the tipping point if it could ever be flipped.^ don't love that states that will be gaining Reps.
Makes it harder in the House too. With their gerrymandered state governments, I don't see them handing these new seats to the DemocratsThe old blue wall is no longer enough. Dems will need to consistently win in GA, AZ and NV. Maybe NC as well. TX would be the tipping point if it could ever be flipped.
Yeah, at a minimum, it needs to be either both NC and GA, or a combination of one of those states + AZ + NVThe old blue wall is no longer enough. Dems will need to consistently win in GA, AZ and NV. Maybe NC as well. TX would be the tipping point if it could ever be flipped.
Democrats have to make inroads with rural voters. It is not just presidential elections. Control of the senate, and in turn the courts, requires rural support. Democrats need to expand grassroots efforts in rural areas and start speaking the language of rural people. And that starts with health care, jobs and affordability. And actually trying. They don’t need majorities but they need to narrow the gap back to 1990 levels. The old blue wall is no longer enough. Dems will need to consistently win in GA, AZ and NV. Maybe NC as well. Isn't it already illegal by virtue of the fact that courts can deny redistricting proposals because they are "gerrymandering".. For one thing outlaw gerrymandering.
Also need to push to increase the size of the US house. I support the Wyoming RuleThat new map is a calamity. We need to do a lot of things in 2028 to mitigate the effects. For one thing outlaw gerrymandering. Of course I'm advocating more radical structural change, but at a minimum we need to fix supreme court and gerrymandering.
