Your comment sparked a memory. IIRC, the girls BB team had six players per side. Two centers that stayed on the offensive end. Two forwards that stayed on the defensive end. And two rovers that played both ends.
That’s how I remember it. My mother played high school basketball in the late 1930’s and they had three guards and three forwards and no players were permitted to cross the center court line. The later addition of rovers turned out to be a transitional step to allowing all players to play all over the court, just like the boys.

Kamala Harris raised a huge chunk of money for none of it to matter. Democratic donors look at that hopelessness, combined with general inaction by the Dems as opposition (and I know that is not fair in a system where the minority party can do little and the majority party doesn't follow the law....) and the donors look at their rising bills vs the party that seems to be a money pit and choose the former.

There's a reason why Trump 2.0 has been using the full power of the federal government to bully and threaten and intimidate corporations and individuals, and it's to create situations like this - Democrats are no longer able to match Republicans in terms of fundraising as their usual sources dry up due to not wanting to piss off the Trump administration. It's the same reason that most media outlets that they don't control outright insist on bosiding everything even when that's not accurate - they're simply scared of pissing off Trump and his minions and having them come after them with the full force of the federal government. And it's likely just going to get worse as we move deeper into Trump 2.0.

1. Agree about what has happened so far. In short, donating to Trump is an astonishingly good investment, whether you’re a billionaire in Detroit who wants to fuck over Canada or a child predator seeking a pardon.

2. I’m not that worried about the money going forward. The party out of power is always way behind at this point, but money almost never turns out to be an issue when the bills have to be paid. This election will be about a lot of things, but I’ll be shocked if campaign funding makes a big difference.

“… Instead, during her 11 months as the de facto leader of the U.S. Agency for Global Media, Lake has done profound damage to America’s foreign broadcasters, and to America’s ability to communicate with the world. USAGM runs Voice of America and gives grants to, among others, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, Radio Free Asia, and the Open Technology Fund, which helps people access information in places including Russia and Iran. During her tenure, Lake has ceded influence to Chinese and Russian state media all over the world, as their broadcasters have taken over slots from canceled U.S. programs. She has hampered the U.S. government’s ability to inform foreign audiences in times of crisis. She blocked RFE/RL from using USAGM’s transmission equipment, which meant that during mass street protests and an internet blackout in Iran recently, the broadcasters’ Persian-language service, Radio Farda, had to rent from commercial contractors. Voice of America’s Spanish-language service, which once reached tens of millions of people in Latin America, was unavailable during the U.S. military’s intervention in Venezuela because it had been shut down months earlier.

… Yet if Lake’s intention is to win Trump’s favor by broadcasting conspiracy theories, she is failing at that too. In October, she was spotted waiting in a White House lobby, hoping to see Trump, according to two GOP operatives. “Kari has been here for hours,” a White House aide told one of the operatives that day. “She’s going to run, and she’s asking for the endorsement.” Lake, who was rumored to be mulling a run for Congress in Arizona, eventually shared her pitch with a low-level aide who conveyed no enthusiasm for a third Lake candidacy, the same person said. The other Republican operative offered a similar account.…”

As incompetent as most of his cronies but to thirsty for Trump.
