Is Serial still putting out new seasons?

The first one was good, but I really didn't get into the second.
I think they're on Season 4. I'm actually not sure if I've listened to Season 3 yet. The producers have done some other podcasts as well. "S-Town" is a good one.

Has anyone else listened to Spiraled? It was super interesting. It came about from a series of articles that Kalyn Kahler wrote at SI a few years ago about what happened with Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila from the Packers and the pastor he started following. It's definitely worth a listen.

Edit: Wow that podcast embed thing is cool :D

Crooked is a bit too liberal for my taste, but I’m glad they had Hasan Piker on again. Recommend listen for those following the red-pilled young men thread as well.

Don’t want to sidetrack this thread but can you help me understand how you’re using the word “liberal” there? I really enjoyed the interview with Hasan, even if I found myself thinking a lot of his foreign policy views are bat shit crazy. I see Hasan as a good bit further to the left than Crooked, so I’m trying to understand how you would characterize him relative to liberals like Favreau.

Yeah, Hasan is a lot further left than Favreau et al, as am I. I’m just using liberal in the traditional sense of the word rather than the American sense.

That is, the political spectrum goes something like Leftist -> Liberal -> Conservative -> Rightist/whatever
Got it. Thanks!

Today's Ezra Klein Show podcast is good and just a little over 30 minutes.

Another good election post-mortem. This one on Making Sense podcast. Sam is a tad more frustrated than Klein.

Only 39 minutes.

One of the best thoughts regarding Harris campaign:

"You lost more people of color than you have in any election, while running against Archie Bunker......who do you think your identity politics is for?"

I enjoy listening to Noble Blood. It is a podcast about different royals over history.

I tried to listen, but you need to subscribe to get the full podcast.

The one I was listening to was a little to deep to listen to while driving.

I found a series of podcasts about Hitler.

Pretty interesting. Also interesting how many parallels there are to Trump.

Most of his shows are behind a pay wall and non-subecribers get only about half. This one is what he generally calls a "PSA", so non-subecribers get the whole show.

This will likely be viewed as some as mocking, but it's not. I heard about this recently and thought some might find usefulness in it.

I only recently really started listening to podcasts. It’s my way of detaching a little bit from the news but still staying connected. As far as that goes, my main listen is The Bulwark.

Outside of that, I love listening to Fake Doctors, Real Friends. I was a big fan of Scrubs and it started out with Zach Braff and Donald Faison rewatching the show and talking about it with a guest, but they finished the show so now it’s mostly them just shooting the shit with different guests. Very entertaining to me, feels like you’re just hanging out with friends.

Oh, and The Brotherhood podcast. *ducks*

I think many here will enjoy, if not appreciate, this. NPR has a spin-off podcast called Embedded. There's a three-part series about a father who goes completely off the Evangelical/prophesy/conspiracy theory deep end. It causes a lot of issues within their family.

So, the father and son make a $10,000 bet about these Evangelical prophecies coming true in 2024. We are talking about martial law in the United States, Trump being put back into power despite losing the election, Biden and Pelosi being convicted of treason... All kinds of nutter butter stuff.

The regular NPR Sunday broadcast introduces the story and goes over the first year bet. Here:

The Embedded podcast, which has the four part series is below.

You will have to wait a week if you don't subscribe to the podcast.

Episode 2:

^^^^It looks like all of the Alternate Realities series are unlocked for non subscribers.^^^

Does anyone know of a center-left podcaster that has a daily show?

I listen to the 15-minute updates from the Wall Street journal, NPR and daily wire. I also listen to some portion of Ben Shapiro's daily show. I'm looking for someone like Shapiro that has a left-leaning opinion.

When I say "like Shapiro", I mean someone that is reasonably intelligent and can carry a show without leaning on a bunch of guests.
