It is awful indeed

That's said Democrats absolutely should be all over this, just like trump was with Afghanistan.

That's how we start to change things because being the better people gets us in this shit situation the country is in
I agree with you in many respects. I don't agree as it applies to this particular incident, at least not at this time.

Still too early to know for sure but this seems like it was just a MASSIVE fuckup by the helicopter pilot. I haven't seen anything yet to suggest anyone else did something wrong. The overcrowding of that air space could also probably bear some blame, but the worst thing possible is to have anyone, and especially the leader of the country, suggesting individuals should be blamed where the evidence does not show they did anything wrong.
The explanation that @HeelYeah2012 posted earlier seems like the most likely scenario. The helicopter pilot was looking at the wrong plane when communicating with air traffic control and totally missed the plane that air traffic control was warning them about.

Apparently the helicopter responded to the tower on the wrong channel, also.

Agree, Democrats need to observe how the new administration handles this. The way they handle it is ALL on the new administration.
I don't have much interest in assigning political blame right now. This is a human tragedy that hits a whole lot of people on a personal level. But I do think it's worth observing, as part of a pattern that's been emerging for several days now, that the new administration's response to this has been about as bad as it possibly could have been. And that starts with the completely irresponsible comments from our president and commander in chief last night.

Biden and his team faced an extraordinary number of challenges from Day 1, from Covid to Afghanistan to Russian aggression. They didn't get everything right. But I never doubted adults were in charge of the room. I'm HIGHLY skeptical that adults are in charge of the room now, and I need look no further than the last 2-3 days to confirm it. Do better, Trump. Do better, Pubs. We've barely started the semester and you're already about to flunk out.

Going back to the "training flight" comment. I rather doubt this was an actual training of new pilots or anything like that. More like training personnel for this particular area. If I am wrong, then please correct.

That's a really good question. I suspect that you are correct in this.

Yes, because scoring a political point is far more important than mourning the dead and extending our empathy and compassion towards them. Some of y’all are exactly the same as the trump magats who bring up border security every time an immigrant is accused of committing a crime.

Can we have one fucking day to mourn without some fucking twat trying to score a political point? Just one, please?

Have you heard any Democratic politicians make any political comments about this tragedy?
