ACCT: dook Biorhythms, 7:00 pm Start

That's why I said "unless Withers wasn't in a place to go into the game". I didn't see him during that time, but I figured he might not have been up for it.

The play was fine, the personnel was not. With that amount of time on the clock, you're not gonna have a chance at a rebound. You need 5 shooters on the court.
I disagree about the play being fine. It was clear RJ was the only option. So, not only does HD have VAL in the game, presumably to set a screen, knowing that Duke is going to switch on all screens (at least involving RJ), but you also only have one option. HD had the wrong personnel in the game and no other option than RJ getting the ball. That's a relatively easy-to-defend play, as soon as EC moves away from the ball to screen with VAL, his defender switches off to deny RJ the pass as RJ comes to the ball.

I think the problem was that he realized it and jumped back like he'd been shot.

It was so obvious what he'd done he didn't leave the refs any choice but to call it.

Poor Jae'Lyn.
I still feel horrible for JWit. He was not the reason UNC lost, but he's going to be the lightening rod for a lot of people to rail on. And, he's going to blame himself. Fucking sucks.

Hubert should have gone with the hot shooter ,don't you think? Of course, we didn't have one.

HD should have gone with a personnel to maximize his team's chance for success, don't you think?

Yeah, never mind that we had a great comeback despite the fact that we couldn't hit water if we fell out of a fucking boat. You and CF ought to write a coaching compendium. Y'all are both result merchants of the finest kind. You both have great hindsight in knowing exactly what should have been done. 18% from 3 and 67% from the line are the real stories in this game. The fact that we came back despite that speaks more to effort and coaching than the BS you're trying to sell.

So what does getting down 24 speak to? What does falling behind big to quality teams all season speak to?

I don't think anyone, including me, is taking anything away from that great comeback from the team or the staff.

Just answer this for me, do you agree with the personnel on that last play, and/or the play?

I guess only the comeback speaks to coaching then. And like I said, this has been a problem all season against quality teams.

No shit, Sherlock. How about better defensive adjustments, more focus on the inside and fewer turnovers as signs that somebody made some adjustments at halftime. Is that coaching, kismet or what?

Since my feed went out while Lubin's first free throw bounced in the air and I didn't get TV or internet until this morning, I couldn't tell you. I will tell you that we lost this as much because Trimble missed three free throws, RJ missed the front end of a one and one and multiple other mistakes that anyone who sets foot on the court are likely to make that it does who was on the court on that last play.

How about having an offense for the team you have that gives them a better chance of winning instead of getting down so much against quality teams all year. And that was the third time they played dook. He should already know what works and what doesn't against them.

Agreed. That last play is not why they lost. I don't think any game is truly won or lost on one play. But, that is not the discussion.

I didn't realize that you didn't see the end of the game. Here you go, I'm curious for your thoughts:

FYI: I did not choose that thumbnail, and I don't like seeing it.

And like 31 other teams, he'll find that not much does.

It's been the same problems all year. Size issues, which with Powell, Lubin and Withers has shown considerable improvement, sheer luck, since it obviously can't be coaching has greatly improved, lack of leadership, which seems some better and the up and down shooting from the team, especially from the three. It's the same reason we had those one point losses to mediocre teams. Remember that most of those losses came when we were on track to be the worst three point shooting team in UNC history.

I'm not talking about just this season. I have never been a fan of the offense. And the last four seasons they have had one good season and one good run in the tournament. They have been mediocre to bad more often than not the last four seasons.

Not sure who else besides Withers I'd have had in and he looked emotionally wrecked. They just defended well. I understand that when you have the number one team and are taller at every single position that sort of stuff can happen.

You've never been a fan of anything but having your ego stroked by pulling for a winning team. You've been a bad to mediocre fan the entire time you've posted on message boards both in volume and content.

I'm just talking about basketball, dude. Don't take it so seriously. And what did I say that isn't true about the past four seasons?
